Ever been bullied, called names. I have. They bully me because I have no friends and because I wear glasses. Another reason they bully me, is because I rather spend my free time at the library than being a social butterfly.
Never had boyfriend, never been kissed. I've been pranked about having a secret admirer. Got humiliated. Lucky for me, tomorrow I will start Senior year and then off to college. I want to be a pastry chef.
I went to the living room and saw my parents with Iris and Damiano. "Hey everyone."
"Hey, little devil." Iris smiled at me.
"Auntie, Belle." Audrey came running towards me and hugged me.
"I missed you too." I said as I picked her up.
"Good to see you, Belle." Damiano smiled at me too.
"You too. It's been a month since I last saw you."
Audrey is 4 years old. She's their only biologically child. Iris had a hard time getting pregnant. She had two miscarriage. She went through depression a lot. She had a hard time giving birth. Audrey is their miracle baby. The doctor told them that after Audrey, she couldn't get pregnant anymore, too risky. They were okay with it. They were happy with Tommy and Audrey.
"Where's, Tomas?" Mom asked.
"Football practice." Damiano answered her.
Tomas is 10 years old, they adopted him when he was only 2 years old. He knows he is adopted; they prefer to tell him first instead of having someone else telling him. He understood that made him love his parents more.
I went to sit down with Audrey, "So, how do you all feel about me finishing senior year online?" They all looked at me weird.
"Why?" Dad asked.
"I'm invisible to everyone. I have no friends." I sighed.
"Maybe this year everything will change." Mom told me.
"Baby sis, High school sucks. But you don't want to miss out your last year there, I mean who knows, maybe you will meet new amazing people."
"Even love." Damiano chimed in.
"I doubt that, but fine. I'll finish Senior year with everyone." I sighed as I laid my head on mom's shoulder.
"Teenagers." Audrey sighed. We gave her a look. "That's what mommy says every time she watches her tv show." We laughed; Audrey is something else.
The next day, I woke up and did my daily routine. I grabbed breakfast and then made my way out. Dad took me to my first day. I have a car but it's in the garage. I never learned how to drive. I'm scared. My parents bought it last year for my birthday.
It's their way of telling me to try new things and to stop being afraid of things.
"Have a great day, little princess." He told me while giving me a hug.
"Thanks dad. I hope this year is different." I smiled.
"It will be." He replied, we said bye, and I went inside.
I made it to the locker I was assigned, I opened it and put my stuff there.
"Her royal nerd has come back." Liza said as her minions were laughing. Liza is the queen bee. I really hate this girl.
I didn't say anything, I just made my way to class. You would think because I'm actually royalty, they would want to be friends with me. No, here, they care more about looks and social cliques. I fit in the loser clique.
I wish I was beautiful like Iris; she wasn't shy or a loser. She already had friends and Damiano. Then there's me. All alone.
Lost in thought I didn't see someone sitting next to me.
"I hope you don't mind me sitting here." He gave me a cheeky smile.
"If you don't mind being seen with a loser like me."
"You're not a loser, sure you dress a little-"
"I like my clothes." I didn't wear fancy clothes or the latest style. I dress very simple. I'm happy this way. I hate when girls change their looks to impress a guy, they either like you for you, or they're just superficial tools.
"You're right, if you're happy this way, then don't change for anyone, girl."
I chuckled, "I won't."
"I'm Liam Martin."
"I'm-"
"You're, princess Belle, like the movie." He grinned; I couldn't help but laugh.
"Usually royalty would dress to impress right? I honestly hate being in fancy clothes." I sighed, "The events our family have are crazy and all fancy pants."
He laughed; he was so easy to talk to. It was nice to talk to someone who wasn't a jerk.
"Damn, hot guys alert." He bit his bottom lip.
"Some are nice and some are tools. I have no idea who's straight." I told him.
"I'll definitely love Senior year." He smirked. He was something else.
I guess dad was right. I mean last year no one talked to me, and this year someone really nice did. Hopefully he doesn't change. I would like to at least have one friend to survive this year.
