Moving

Cassie's Pov

Moving to a new place is hard. But it's especially hard for me. I have magic that I have to keep a secret from everyone. Only my best friend Diana Smith knows I have magic. I have never told anyone else about this and I have never wanted to until I moved to Shadow Mist, Louisiana where I met Aidan Spencer.

" Cassie get down here! "

I hear my Mom yell and groan as I look around my old room. I hate that we have to move. I love it here in Florida , where the sun is always shining and I could go swim in the ocean anytime I want. But now that we're moving that all changes.

"Cassie! "

My Mom calls again.

" I'm coming! "

I yell and rush down the stairs.

When I get down there Mom is in the kitchen making chocolate chip pancakes. Mmmm my favorite!

" Glad to see you're ready. "

Mom says and I roll my eyes.

" Yeah sorry I was just checking if I have all of my stuff. "

I say and Mom nods. She's a planner, just like me.

" Good. Now hurry up and eat so we can leave. I want to get to the new house as soon as possible. "

She says excited to be leaving Florida, unlike me. I love it here and don't want to leave and Mom knows that too. But she says it'll be good for us. I hope she's wrong. I really don't want to leave Diana.

Once I'm finished eating I clean my plate, dry it off, and put it in a box. Whoever said moving is fun was wrong. It's not fun at all.

" Cassie let's go! "

Mom yells from the car and I look at the ocean one last time. I sigh as I think about how after this my life will never be the same.
