Wendy's POV
Earlier that day
It's been 13 years since I last spoke to him. 13 years since I last spoke to Bruce, my best friend and childhood crush. 13 years since the murder of my Aunt and Uncle. 13 years (I really should stop saying 13 years since) since my grandmother closed the Kingdom. I wish I knew what he was doing right now. I miss him so much. We met when I was just a few days old. His parents were childhood friends with mine. Even when his parents were killed, Alfred and my parents still stayed in touch. By the time I was 5 and he was 13 we were inseparable. I think that's when my crush began to form. And then when I was 8 and my parents were killed, he was there to hold me up. When I 9 and gained my speedster powers, I went to tell him, only to be shocked that he shared the same view as Batman. No metas is Gotham. So I didn't tell, being selfish and wanting to see him still. And the my Aunt and Uncle were killed. My Grandmother snapped. She shut the Kingdom. Sure, I still sneak out to be the Flash but I can't see Bruce for the fear of the media finding out that the Hidden princess of Meridian.
"Princess Wendy, your Grandmother is requesting your presence." a guard informed me.
"Tell her that I'm on my way down." I sigh. I wonder what I've done wrong now.

"Wendy," My grandmother began, "Wendy I'm sorry to inform you that Bruce Wayne's second ward has recently passed away." My breathe caught in my throat. I knew that Bruce had taken wards and I was glad about it. It would help him become a better man. But if one of his wards died...
"Grandmother, may I please go to Gotham and attend the funeral?" I say with a hit of my begging and anxiousness leaking out into my voice. "You know that I can protect myself." My Grandmother smiled.
"Of course you can. Why do you think I called you here" I smile. My Grandmother was allowing me out of Meridian without being in costume. "What are you waiting for girl? GO." My grandmother laughed.
Present Time
"And that is how I ended up with permission to come to your bother's funeral." I concluded. The boy's face was shocked.
"Miss Wendy. If you would be as kind as to try and get Master Bruce to move, I would ever be so obliged." Hearing Alfred's formal voice I smiled.
"Of course Alfred." I turn and my smile drops from my face. There next tot he new grave sat Bruce. He was oblivious to everything around him and just sat staring at the grave. I started to walk slowly towards him.
Hey everyone. Chapter two is now out. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears.
