Chapter 20.

Saturday morning, Rozelle arose earlier than usual and made pecan waffles while Sean was in the shower.

She used her mother's recipe and cooked the lightly sweetened batter on the Cuisinart Double waffle maker.

When Sean arrived in the diningroom, breakfast was already on the table.

"Goodmorning." Rozelle said.

"Morning. Wow..you made waffles."

"I hope you like them Sean." She said beaming at him like a happy housewife.

After breakfast Sean went straight back to bed to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Meanwhile ,Rozelle puttered around the apartment cleaning

until the place was spotless and smelling of Lemon Pledge.

She even called the local florist and ordered a dozen pink roses to

replace the browning ones inside the crystal vase in the livingroom.

Now that she didn't have anything to keep her busy , Rozelle very quickly

grew bored and decided to go for a walk without waiting for Sean to wake and join her.

So dressing in a navy blue , tank top and pants from Alo Yoga, which she paired with black Ryko

walking shoes, Rozelle pulled her red mane back into a ponytail, kissed a groggy Sean goodbye and set off.

Her destination was the small neighborhood park , an easy mile walk.

The sun was shining, the air held a crystalline scent which for some

reason reminded her of Washington.

The park was crowded and at first glance Rozelle wanted to leave but then

with a shrug she decided to make the most of the noisy soroundings.

Only one bench was free..

It sat beneath a Poplar tree near a stone fountain .

As Rozelle approached the wrought iron bench she noticed a

man standing with his back to her , near the little green painted fence around the gurgling fountain.

He was dressed in a black hoodie t-shirt and black jeans with Puma sneakers.

Hesitating, she once again felt the urge to leave the park but before she could make up her mind,

the man turned toward her and smiled.

"Hello...Rozelle." Victor Ambrose said.

"Victor.." Rozelle mumurred drawing up short and staring into his amused eyes in trepidation.

"I was visiting my Aunt and Uncle who live in this area and decided to take a walk." He explained adding with a small laugh,

"So don't look so terrified. I'm not stalking you."

"I'm not terrified.
I simply wasn't expecting to run into you ...here." Rozelle stuttered.

"Were you about to sit?" He asked politely.

"Actually...well I was thinking about leaving.
It's much too crowded here today."

"Oh." said Victor,"Well..I hope that you change your mind about leaving."

"Why is that?"

Rubbing the back of his neck, he seemed embarrassed.

Finally meeting her frank stare he said,
