The lost monkey

In the Brazilian jungle, there lived a very wealthy family and house there dad called martin lived in the city where he worked for the daily newspaper got most of the money for the family. but their mum lived in a giant treehouse they had renovated about 20 years ago were they had two children called Pete and Elle and later after that a lovely little girl named Hazel. There were noises from every window the jungle was awake. It was a Monday in mid-February 2053. It was a bright morning and the sun was shining through the slightly tinted swaying trees. Elle could hear the birds chirping in the trees while cleaning their dirty sunroom after their family had just had a big birthday party for Elles pet sloth called Bimbo and singing her favorite melody. Pete her brother was busy reading his old book about lost cities that he found in his grandad's cupboard when they were cleaning out his house after he had passed away. Their 2-year old sister hazel who had long blonde hair and blue eyes and a very soft voice and their mum Mayall who had short brown hair and blue eyes and a British accent had just gotten back from a trip to the city to see their dad and get some supplies and were unpacking their heavy bags. Then lying on their puffed up beds each watching their favorite tv series. Like every morning Pete and Elle had to get ready for school But Pete was hearing a strange noise coming from the sunroom windows, A sound he had never heard before, it didn't sound like a monkey or bird it didn't sound like any living thing in their jungle. Being a little 8-year-old boy, of course, you are going to be interested and see what it is. That was exactly what Pete did. He looked through every single window even the roof. He looked for ages he looked under all the pillows out the windows until his sister told him sadly we have to go to school. They packed there bags and had breakfast and set off through the jungle track to the school bus that left early in the morning. The track took them a while to get thought but they finally were at the bus stop. The bus wasn't there and decided they must be early. They were correct indeed, after a while of waiting the bus finally got there and on the bus, they meet up with there neighbors Rose and Baeliy they lived in a treehouse about a mile from there house. when they got on the bus they talked about random stuff like the weather and the animals in the jungle. finally, they were at school, the bus had been a bit late so did get to there school.

For the entire day, Pete was wondering what was the noise he heard. When it was writing time he decided to research on the computers on what the noise he had heard could be but found nothing. Elle, on the other hand, was just having a fine day but as well wondering why Pete was acting so weird. Pete and Elle meet up for lunch in the school cafeteria,  Elle asked Pete are you ok. Off course, Pete wasn't but he said everything was fine. It was getting to the end of Lunch and Pete decided to tell Elle about the noise he heard. Elle said that after school we will go hunt for it because mum will be out getting groceries with Hazel. On the way home they thought would it still be there, what is it, where is it hiding. Finally, after walking for years though the bush they finally were home and as soon as they opened the door they set off to find this mysterious thing. Pete and Elle looked everywhere, they looked in there bedrooms, in the playground they even went in a walk through the heart of the jungle but couldn't find anything. The only place they hadn't looked was out near the pool. The light was dimming thought the trees and it was beginning to be dawn luckily the light from the lanterns lead the way to there pool. Once they got there they tiptoed all around, but then Pete heard it again "pst Elle I heard it " said, Pete. Elle went rushing over and of course, there it was a small monkey that spoke softly to them, Elle would describe him as a fluffy baby monkey but Pete described him as a weird thing with legs and eyes. Elle asked him what he or she was called but just when he or her was answering there question there mother called to come inside. Somehow they had to sneak the monkey into the house without their mother finding out. Pete had the perfect place.

They decided to hide the monkey in their indoor jungle that they built when there was a big storm. They told him or her to stay here well they brought out a blanket and some food that they had from there past monkey. They brought out the stuff and asked the monkey a few questions like what is your name that they tried to ask later but was disrupted " my name is Ari" said the monkey and of course Ari was a boy. Ari told them about his home and what had happened to him to end up here. They learned a lot about Ari and by the time they had finished their mum called " Dinner" and Pete and Elle went rushing inside. At dinner, Mum asked why they were outside in the indoor jungle and near the pool, they had to think off the top of there head finally Pete said " we were getting some stuff we left in there earlier after school. Their mum said "okay".  For the rest of dinner, they talked about school and work and how they wanted to take a trip into the city again to see there dad, once dinner was over they went to their bedrooms and wished that the monkey they meet today named Ari would still be there in the morning. The light sun was shining through the trees, you could hear the birds chirping and the wind whistling softly, the jungle was awake. So was Pete and Elle, they rushed up in there pajamas into the kitchen not even getting their daily breakfast waffles and a hot chocolate or saying good morning to there mum and sister instead, they went straight out into there indoor jungle where they had left Ari the monkey for the night. When they got there they saw that Ari was hanging from a vine squawking and singing Hello from Adele, " Pete how does he know that song" Elle said " I think he heard you singing it last night on the radio" Pete said. After having their conversation on why Ari was singing a popular hit they decided to say hi and ask how the night was. Once they did that The monkey asked how am I going to get home, Pete and Elle didn't know the answer and said sorry we don't know. Ari had an Idea we should time travel back to his World. Pete and Elle were kinda surprised that a monkey could come up with that. They thought hard about what they should do. Elle so badly wanted to keep the monkey but Pete didn't he was scared it was cursed. After they thought hard they decided to go.
