It had been a week since Natalie and Kate met Michael and Luke. To Natalie and Kate it felt like it was just yesterday. They got eachother's numbers, but they had all been so busy they haven't had a chance to talk to each other very much. Michael and Kate did text whenever they had time though. Thankfully Nat and Kate had the day off, but Nat had a doctors appointment and her parents insisted on her staying with them. Which was weird since they normally ignore her Kate being worried was an understatment. Kate thought about texting Michael but with their different schedules it was hard to know when to text. Then Kate realized she has Michael freaking Clifford's number why wasn't she using it?! Kate sent Michael a text saying hey before she changed her mind. After Kate sent the text she regretted it immediately. And unfortunately as smart as technology was their was no way to un send a text. A few minutes later she felt a buzz "Hey ;)" Little did Kate know just how much this coversation was going to change her life.
Natalie realized her parents had been acting more strange than normal lately. She didn't see why they wanted her here now they never cared before. But they insisted a "family meeting" for some reason. "Natalie you know we love you right?" Well that's not a good start they're not kicking me out are there. I guess I could live with Kate I basically live with her now. Natalie rambled on her thoughts suddenly confused and scared "Yea what's going on?" Her dad looked at her mom and her mom nodded. He sighed "Natalie there isn't an easy way to say this but your mom and I are getting a divorce." "WHAT?!" "I'm sorry honey, but we've tried couples therapy and it's just not working out." You could hear her mom's voice crack when she said that. Why is she so choked up about this I'm the one that's suffering Natalie thought to herself but wouldn't dare say it out loud. Natalie could feel her throat close and pain in her chest. Everything slowly made sense that's why they never had time for her they were trying to make their marriage last. Wait if they were getting a divorce who would she live with? "So where am I going to live?" They shared another look "We go to court tomorrow." "I don't have to move do I?" "We don't know yet your dad is moving to a town 3 hours away." "Are you ok Nat you look pale?" How am I supposed to feel when my parents don't love each other anymore and I may be forced to move? Natalie thought about asking but she knew better. "Yeah dad, I'm fine can I call kate." My mom gave me a sympathetic smile "Of course you can sweetie." She lightly squeezed Natalie's hands and walked away which was very unlike her mom. Natalie ran up to her room to call Kate and tell her the dreadful news.
Michael couldn't stop thinking about Kate, It was just so easy to talk to her the conversation just flows naturally. The sound of thousands of girls screaming broke Michael out of his weird trance thing. During the concert he couldn't stop thinking about Kate. Why am I getting so caught up with this girl? I may never know why, but I hope it never ends. Michael thought to himself and hoped he didn't accidentally say something about her onstage. Before he knew it the concert was over hopefully he didn't mess up. Well if he did the guys would tell him or make fun of him for it. When they were all sitting in the lounge Michael started feeling more anxious than usual. Unfortunately for Michael Ashton noticed "Do you have ants in your pants or something?" Ashton asked with a smirk which got Calum and Luke's attention Luke looked at Michael with a knowing smirk. Ashton and Calum seen Luke's face and knew Michael was hiding something. "Thinking about her again huh?" There was no point in denying it they all could see it Michael sighed "yes." Ashton sat next to Michael "Dude it's obvious she likes you back" "How do you know you've never met her" "Luke told us" "of course he did." "If she text you first and flirted back she likes you." Maybe the guys were right maybe she did like Michael. At this point Calum and Luke had went who knows where Michael was secretly glad. "So what do I do next?" "Follow your heart" "Seriously that's the best advice you have?!" Michael asked and rolled his eyes. "You'll know what to do when the timing is right trust me." Ashton went back to the bus with Calum and Ashton Michael groaned and wondered how he got himself into this? He followed the guys back to the bus and Michael let his mind go crazy.
Michael and Kate for an hour which basically consisted of them joking around and a little bit of flirting. He had to do a concert so they had to stop talking. Now Kate was alone with her thoughs wondering what was going on with Natalie and her parents. Why would they want her over there so bad? It's not like she did anything wrong. They never seemed to notice her before why now? Kate's phone ringing broke her out of her thoughts it was Natalie. Now for her questions to be answered. "Hey!" "Hi" Kate had never heard her sound like that before she sounded so fragile. "Nat, what's wrong?" "My parents are getting a divorce and I may have to move with my dad 3 hours away from here. We go to court tomorrow." "TOMORROW?!" "yep would you mind coming with me for support" "I'll be there." "Thank you so much Kate." "You're welcome if you need anything else let me know." "ok I'm sorry this is how you have to spend your weekend off." "Nat it's fine don't beat yourself up about it, you can't help it." "So what have you done today?" "uh nothing" "you're lying" "Fine I talked to Michael" "OOO and you weren't going to tell me?" "It's not that I didn't want to make you feel worse." "I could use some happiness in my life now tell me everything." Kate laughed at her sudden change of tone "ok so I text him and he said hey with a winky face and we joked around and flirted a little." "So he text you back immediately even though he had stuff to do and he sent you a wink in the first text. Gurrrl he likes you." Kate could feel her cheeks turn bright red thank god Nat couldn't see that. "No he doesn't he's just being nice." "Flirting is more than nice." I sighed "if I agree that he likes me will you shut up.?" "possibly" I groaned "You're just as bad as he is!" Did I really just say that now she's definatly going to suspect something Kate thought realizing her mistake. "Oh really how is that?" Kate could practically hear her smirk "I mean you're both hard to deal with" "As if you don't like it." "It's cute when he does it." "So now I'm not cute?" "Aww is wittle Natalie jealous?" At this point they were both laughing "I'm not jealous" "admit it Nat you're just jealous" "fine I'm a little jealous" Natalie said jokingly when there were voices in the background. "I have to go they want to eat together do you know how awkward this is going to be?" "I'm so sorry, Nat" "Thanks and remember you're coming with me tomorrow" "alright see you then" "bye." Kate felt so bad for Natalie and couldn't imagine how hard that must be for her. Kate decided she had better get ready for tomorrow since she has a feeling it's going to be a long day.
