Since the fall of the darkest wizard in a century, Lord Voldemort, there had been a massive baby boom in Britain. New families began easily and freely, with newlyweds happily starting their families earlier than anticipated. For the past nine years, it was common for announcements in work places of pending births, at family gatherings, or even in the streets when a future father became so overjoyed he shouted it from the top of a parked car. Luckily for Ron Weasley, he wasn't arrested for climbing a muggle policeman's car and dancing on top of it while shouting, "I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant!"
However, for the past few months, several families that may have been joyous just months or years before were now sad, scared, and torn apart, and no one understood why.
"Well if you see her, you'll let us know, won't you?" asked a distraught Colin Creevey, holding a picture of his 2 year old daughter Sarah in his hand. His 3 year old son clung sadly to his leg as they walked from a neighbor's house in Bristol. "No luck either, Angel?" asked Colin. Luna Lovegood-Creevey, his wife, was just coming from across the street with his brother Dennis, having the same luck as Colin with the neighbors. Colin shook his head solemnly at his brother and wife as he picked up his son Wilfred. The boy laid his blonde head on his father's shoulder as tears leaked from his large eyes. Colin coughed hard as he patted his son's back consolingly.
The once dreamy look on Luna Lovegood's face had vanished a week ago when her daughter went missing on a family outing. The tiny blonde toddler, with eyes just as large and dreamy as her mother's, was chased into a forest preserved by her brother and their cousins for fun. However, the boys lost sight of the tiny 2 year old, and after searching on their own for awhile, ran to tell their parents of her disappearance. The family searched the park, the forest and the neighborhoods near by extensively, but to no avail. The family reported the lost to the Aurors, but Sarah Creevey's name was now on the bottom of the list of the many children that were disappearing as of late in Britain.
