I've never been one to depend on another.

GAIL MARLOWE, SOFT AND SWEET HUFFLEPUFF HAS SOME ISSUES. She knows just by the beginning of the year that this year isn't going to be a good one, for her or for anyone close to Gail. And it's not that she means to pull away from her friends, or seem closed off and reserved. Really. If Gail had it her way she would be friends with everyone, it's just that the world is so big, and Gail is... decidedly not. And it's just that her friends are all there, and they're talking, and worst of all, they're not talking to Gail. And she knows it's stupid and irrational to be so upset over something so little, but Gail can't help it. And that's exactly how Gail, small, sensitive, Gail Marlowe finds herself standing in the middle of Harry Potter's compartment! (Totally unknowingly, she might add). And, as if things aren't bad enough for Gail, (and Harry, at the moment, too) she starts to cry.

But it's an odd thing, fate and loneliness. Because it looks like Gail's loneliness was exactly was brought her and Harry together. And it seems like fate, because Harry is the only one Gail Marlowe can talk to without him thinking she's a total tosser, and Gail Marlowe seems to be the only one who doesn't think Harry Potter's entered his name into the Goblet of Fire.

But they're just really, really good friends, right?
