It was your usual fall day. Two girls - unusual in appearance, sat at a bench together. One of the girls had ink black hair, dropped down to her waist. She was pale with black eyes that matched the color of her hair. Her makeup made her face stand out. Her outfit consisted of something of an emo appearance.
The other girl had skin which was ice blue, strangely. The girl's hair was a blackish brown put up into twin braids. The girls' names are Shade and Kori. They sat on a park bench listening to Paramore.
"Kori, are you ... alright?" Shade asked her. Kori shook her head and looked over towards her friend's direction. She blinks a few times and replies faintly "Y-Yes." Shade obviously knew Kori wasn't telling the truth. However she didn't feel it necessary to pressure her. Shade just put on 'a look' and just continued listening to her music.
Kori kept pulling her sleeves to hide her frost bitten palm. This usually meant her anxiety was in function. Shade's dark aura was in effect too. Something was wrong, really wrong.
"Shade, do you remember when you, me, Elyrse, and Blake were still a team?" Kori opens Shade's car door as she asked. The wraith just looked at the ice elemental and replied "That was a long time ago Kori. All four of us were young and thought we could save the world. Before you know it, Elyrse is a mother at 16, Blake left us for a greater power, now we're all alone." Kori sighs and leans on the car window.
"Well where are they now?" Shade's car finally starts after a few times and hitting her head on the steering wheel. "Elyrse is still in Manhattan. She won't answer her fucking phone though. Blake is in Europe. Wait, you remember Duffey right?" Kori sits up and nods, "He went on a quest and never came back after Elyrse got pregnant." Shade nods her head and pulls up to a Starbucks.
Shade and Kori end up in 5 o' clock traffic. Of course Shade, being from Manhattan, yells in her heavy Jersey accent, Kori just giggles. " 'AIGHT YA BETTER GET YOUR ARSES MOVING!! MY FUCKIN' GRANDMOTHER MOVES FASTER ON HER WALKER!" Kori just sips her Starbucks drink as Shade destroys all the cars in front of her with her dark aura.
"Shade! Won't the popo notice?" Kori says, shocked. "Eh, it's Jersey. No one cares."
**This just in. Random terrorist attack on Highway 36.
"Dammit!" Shade yelled. Kori just sat on the couch and shrugged. "You have to be careful about using your powers here Shade. We're in a world where people hate us." Shade rolls her eyes and slams her magazine on a table. "No one notices Kori." Kori backed up a bit, "Did you not see me getting stared at in the park for having blue skin??!"
Again, Shade rolls her eyes and goes to bed. Kori feels bad about yelling at her friend so she goes to her room and softly cries. With each cry, the room freezes.
