'I pulled her closer to me. She smelled like vanilla and whiskey. I'm sensitive to smells but it smelled familiar. It kinda smelled like my childhood. Baking cakes with my mother and grandma. Sweet memories... I ordered two drinks. Once they came, I gave her one and took a sip of mine. I hated it. I hate alcohol. I only come here for the people. She quickly finished her' so I handed her mine. She got drunker. I pulled her to a spare room and'
I was just about to write the rest when I heard my wife, Ellie, come into the house. I quickly put the journal in a box and slid it under a dresser. My wife walked in the room and was holding a few bags. She loved shopping. One could say she was obsessed with shopping. I didn't mind as she worked often and she deserved it.
"Babe look what I got!" She said as she held up the three gigantic bags even higher in the air.
A smile painted on her face. Her smile is so beautiful I thought as I started to smile along with her. She put two of the bags on the bed and kept a hold of the other bag. I sat on the bed. I knew it was going to take awhile. Honestly I didn't mind watching her ever if it lasted an hour.
She took out the first piece of clothing and held it up to her chest.
"Do you like it Hae?" She said.
I smiled. The shirt was white with blue and pink stripes. It looked pretty. I nodded in response. She became ever more happy and continued on with the bag. She pulled out a few more things before we heard the door bell ring.
We both look at our door and then I got up. We both walked out of our room and into our living room. The living room is a light peach with a couch and a few chairs around. There is a coffee table in the middle of the room. The curtains were some what see through. The moon light and street lights outside were the only lights coming from outside.
I walked up to the door and checked the peep whole and saw my Ellie's mom. I was shocked to see her as it was already 9 pm but I opened the door anyway.
"Hello I haven't seen you in a few weeks!" She squealed
She reached her arms around my body and held me tight. Her golden hair was the only thing I could see as she hugged me. I got a waft of a strong flowery smell that made me a little dizzy. She pulled away from me and I could she her face now.
Her deep, dark blue eye remind me of someone but I don't remember who. Ellie had her dad's eyes. She had a dark hazel color and a tint of green when light hit her eyes. Ellie looked like her mom but with her dad's eyes and hair.
Ellie's mom rushed passed me and jumped as she went to hug her daughter. I could see Ellie smiling and I could hear her soft giggle.
"Mom I didn't know you were coming!" Ellie said though happy giggles.
"I haven't seen you guys and a few weeks and I figured that I needed to come over and spend some time with you guys."
Ellie looked at me with a looked that looked like she was asking if it was okay if her mom stayed for awhile. I nodded which made her smile even wider. She hugged her mom and told her that we had a spare room.
The room had a twin sized bed with a light gray colored sheets and a white fluffy pillow. The room had white wallpaper with flowers that had started fading away. I thought it was the ugliest thing in the world but Ellie liked it so we kept it.
Her mom walked to the room and threw her stuff on the floor and hopped in the bed. Her mom was very energetic for her age. She isn't old but she it's the youngest. She looked younger than she was.
I walked out of the room and went into my room. I let Ellie have alone time with her mom. To be honest, Ellie's mom is very clingy and acts like she needs to know everything even if it was private. If she was told it private, she would throw a fit until someone told her. It was quite annoying and made me mad that Ellie would tell her everything but I never told her how I felt.
I sat on the bed and went through a bag that Ellie brought home. We only got through a bag and a half. I looked at the clothes that she had picked out. She had a lot of crop tops and shirts that looked to short. She had a few jeans and a few sweaters. I continued to go though the bag until I pulled out a lacy bra and a matching pair of shorts.
I was looking at them thinking about girls fashion when Ellie came in. I was deep in though when she came in. I hadn't noticed her come in. She stood there a moment and then cleared her throat. I looked up and she was blushing. Cute.
"Um.." was the only thing she said before her mom walked in.
