Faeron didn't look up from her book when the front door slammed open, and ignored her friend stomping into the room.
"Going to the beach was a mistake," Isa said with a groan, flopping onto the chair opposite Faeron, who hummed lightly.
"There were so many Drowned. So many."
"I did warn you," Faeron reminded her.
"It's supposed to be lit up!" Isa said defensively. "There was a flooded cave they missed. The things were coming out of it in hordes. I nearly died, like, six times."
"If it had been anywhere but the beach, I'd have been with you, but..." Faeron shrugged. "You chose the beach."
"Yeah, I know. On the bright side, I got a trident," Isa said, taking it out. "Enchanted, too. Haven't checked what it's got yet, though."
Faeron glanced up, eyeing the shimmer over the handle and the points. "Loyalty. And something that's either Unbreaking or Mending."
"Oh. Huh." Isa eyed the weapon in her hands. "I still don't get how you do that."
"The enchantment glow is brighter where you're holding it," Faeron said, going back to her book. "That's Loyalty; Riptide is similar but that one has a vortex sort of swirl to the glow. Impaling and Channelling have stronger glows over the points, and curse of vanishing gives off a bad feeling. Unbreaking and Mending are the only trident enchantments that are any sort of subtle."
"Your eyes are ridiculous. I can't see anything," Isa murmured, squinting at her trident. Faeron shrugged and continued reading.
