I was walking home from work, I like my job, my boss even said I could go home earlier today, I guess it was because I had taken all the late night shifts last week. The only thing that annoys me is that I live so far and had to walk every day... okay, that was a lie, I'm just too tired right now. Everyday I actually enjoy walking to work, the fresh air always seemed to make me happy somehow. It takes around 15-20 minutes in total, and I don't walk slow. I could see the park as I crossed the street, maybe I should take the shortcut through it..

I changed my direction and walked past the big tree, taking a deep breath, listened to the how the cold wind made the trees move. I closed my eyes as I relaxed my sore muscles, I could hear kids laugh at the playground, I couldn't help but smile. I stood, leaned up against a tree, just enjoying the moment.

I heard a light thud and then someone... sobbing? I opened my eyes, and looked around, searching for the source. Not far from where stood, was a little girl laying in the grass, it looked like she had tripped on one of the rocks. Seeing her cry, broke my heart so I slowly approached her.

"Are you hurt?" I asked as I crouched down next to her. She shyly glanced at me before shaking her head 'no'.

"Oh, so you're a tough girl, huh?" I offered a smile. I knew she was lying, but from what I could see, she was fine, no marks and she wasn't bleeding. I thought I should just start a little conversation to make her forget the pain. My only grew bigger as she actually smiled at my comment.

"I'm Dlive, and you are...?"

"A-Ab-Abby" she stuttered, obviously freezing.

"Hello Abby, may I ask, who did you come here with?" I asked, taking my scarf off and handed it to her, not wanting her to be cold.

"My fr-f-friend!" I was kinda hoping for a parent, but I guess it doesn't really matter, as long as we find this 'friend'.

"A friend, you say? could you maybe describe them for me?" I couldn't really help if I didn't knew what to look for.. she looked deep in thought, so stood up, thinking for a bit.

"Okay, how about this, are they as tall as I am?" I asked.

"No, he's not that tall!" she raised her voice a bit, probably thinking I couldn't hear her from up here. Not that tall she said.... wait, "he's"? so it's a guy, I'm looking for. I looked around, realizing that there were way too many people at park, and I'm looking for a short guy? dang it..

"Abby, can you tell me more about what he looks like? maybe hair color or such?" I asked as I crouched down to her level again, not wanting to miss any details.

"He has dark hair, brown eyes... uhm... a black jacket! and.. erh... something here!" she said as she pointed at her bottom lip. I wasn't sure what that meant, maybe a beard? I shrugged it off and picked her up from the cold ground.

"Now that you're up here, would you like to help me find him?" she nodded quickly and looked around.

"Do you see him?" I asked, I tried getting her as high up as possible, hoping she could find him. To my disappointment she shook her head. I sighed and walked over to a nearby bench, I was about to sit down but decided to stand on it instead, maybe I.. or we could get a better view from up here.
