"let the duel commence."

everything happened so fast. one second, chan was just approximately a meter away from jeonghan and then suddenly, he was right next to him, dropping down to kick jeonghan's feet off the ground and successfully knocking him down, the latter's face planted to the ground.

everyone gasped.

"he's fast!"

"how did he get there?"

"is that his gift?"

chan smirked. he did not give jeonghan even a second to piece together what had happened to him before kicking him in his stomach, making him roll just a foot away from him. chan grinned.

"this is easy. i just have to—" he was next to jeonghan's side again who was trying to push himself up the ground and slammed his foot down his chest. jeonghan wheezed when the air was suddenly knocked out of him. "—make him surrender, right?"

chan grabbed jeonghan by the hair harshly and threw him exactly a meter away from him, where jeonghan lied limply in front of the guy with the mole. jeonghan had blood on his lip as he looked around aimlessly, feeling dizzy.

"whoa! this is actually fun!" chan declared, pumping up as he raced for jeonghan.

seungcheol gulped. he turned to king pledis.

"you've got to stop this!" the king ignored him. seungcheol creased his eyebrows together. "hey! he's hurting already! he can barely talk!" the king was persistent to ignoring him.

"woo!" seungcheol turned to wonwoo behind him, but was confused when he only met up with a calm wonwoo, who was actually smiling the whole time. he never knew wonwoo was a sadist.

wonwoo glanced up to him and arched an eyebrow. "aren't you gonna watch?" seungcheol looked at him incredulously.

"how can i watch when someone is suffering right in front of me? i am not barbaric." he hissed, glaring at his friend who was actually enjoying the show he was being presented. wonwoo rolled his eyes.

"won't you take a look in front of you?" seungcheol narrowed his eyes. wonwoo smiled reassuringly. "i promise nothing bad is going to happen. just watch before you miss it."

seungcheol wasn't trusting wonwoo on this for once. but he's reminded that wonwoo has already seen this in his visions, so he must have already known that this happened and didn't do anything to stop it. he reluctantly glanced in front of him but surprised himself with what he's seeing.

there stood the two contenders. jeonghan leaned on the fountain while chan stood in front of him, motionless. the audience watched intensely, trying to decipher what has happened to the once loud competitor.

jeonghan parted his lips, licking the dried blood off of them and smirking up at chan. "finally," he swatted his bangs away, "you've stopped moving." he rested his hand on the fountain as support as he slowly stood up, almost falling again when his legs wobbled.

he rolled his head to hear a few cracks and sighed in satisfaction. he trudged the small gap between him and the young speedster, wincing as his side started to strain from the kick he received from chan earlier.

"you were quite the troublemaker." jeonghan gritted his teeth as he felt his legs almost give out. when chan was upon arm length, he reached his hand out and grabbed chan by the nape and yanked him in, whispering softly to his ear before he let go.

when chan turned around, everyone noticed his hooded eyes, like he was just about ready to collapse from exhaustion. his eyes skimmed through the numerous heads in front of him and finally met eyes with the one person he was looking for.
