I can't even fathom what's happening. NO PULSE???
*bump bump*
Me: "AAAGGGHHHH!"
Every time my heart actually had a pulse, it felt horrible. It felt as if someone tightly clenched it for a few seconds...
Nurse: "Okay, okay... So it seems that you have a painful pulse whenever I touch your chest. Did something happen there during the accident?"
Me: "I remember... that my attacker placed his palm on my chest gently... but then it pulsed like that... It was painful and it kept pulsing. I was petrified and I couldn't move... Each and every pulse pushed me into a paralytic state... that was the worst of the pulses I've felt..."
Nurse: "That— That doesn't make any sense, hun... You don't remember what he looked like!?"
Me: "It was dark... and it seemed like his face was covered. I haven't seen his face..."
The nurse took a deep breath and slumped down onto a stool. I was just as disappointed as she was. How could I not have gotten a glimpse of his face? How could I fuck THAT up? My mom burst into the room with tears streaming down her face. My stepdad, Jose, followed in, too angry to even look at me.
Mom: "TYVAN MARTÍN GRAY-PEOPLES, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!"
She continued to ramble, though I wasn't listening. I was too numb to register her words, so I sat there pretending to listen. Stupid Kaiser... Because I'm a minor and my parents didn't know I was here, of course, the other staff would contact them. I wish they would've asked me first. I already had enough shit on my plate...
Mom: "ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!"
Nurse: "Miss... erm... Gradillas, is it?"
My mom was beginning to calm down. The nurse did have an oddly soothing voice; one that could possibly put me to sleep.
Mom: "Yes... yes, that's me..."
Nurse: "Your son... He— We can't find a pulse..."
Mom: "WHAT?"
Ugh... Just fucking great. Here come the tears.
Mom: "How— how long does he have..?"
She thinks I'm dying?
Nurse: "I don't— erm... that's a good question actually... I don't know."
SHE thinks I'm dying???
Me: "Woah woah... guys... I feel perfectly fine. I have a headache, but I'll just pop an Advil and I'll be good to go."
Nurse: "We don't know that... We need to run many more tests to see if we can release you."
Mom: "How long will these tests take?"
