Hey all! I'm not very good at poetry..... Just felt like trying it out! Whaddya think? Ok so, it's not letting me skip lines so after each stanza will be a * okay?

When the sun goes down
So does the girl's happiness
A slamming car door
A slamming house door
Footsteps in the hallway
"Where are you?!" Drunkenly slurred
*
The girl cringes up against a wall
Hoping to hide from her biggest fear-Her father
No such luck
He spots her cowering in a corner
An evil smile lights up on his face
*
She tries to run
But is yanked to the ground by her hair
She cries out in pain
In return she gets a slap to her face
Punches, slaps, hateful words
The girl sobs while her father laughs
*
All she ever wanted was to be loved
A kiss on the forehead
Loving parents telling her she looked beautiful
Someone to hold her hand
*
Instead she gets pain
What did she ever do?
Live, her father says
*
After her mother died
Her world was torn apart
Her father blamed his pain on her
Took his anger out on her
*
She spent her days sobbing
Hiding in a dark corner
*
As her father bangs her head on the floor
She whispers "I love you"
*
He stops in shock
As if broken out of a trance
He starts crying
Takes her in his arms
But it is too late
*
She drifts off into the darkness
She smiles as she sees her mother once again
And runs off hand in hand with her
*
When she's gone he can't take it anymore
Shoots himself and falls to the ground
With the girl still in his arms
*
For the father just wanted
A little girl to love
To kiss her on her head
To tell her she was beautiful
To hold her little hand
*
Instead he gave her pain
She never did anything wrong
Now she was gone
