There is a high school in a dimension called The Offspring where creatures exist and learn the history of their parents and everything else that happened since the beginning of time. The school is named Night High due to the fact that school hours are during the night and only the night. The high school is pretty small, big enough for everyone who goes there, and sits on a fairly large hill that is also a cemetery.

My name is Myth Kaynine and I am the daughter of Cerberus, the guardian of the entrance to the Underworld, and a vampire as my mother named Thamia. I wasn’t planned or expected at all. Neither one of my parents wanted a child because they were already too busy with their lives and “important jobs”. They both still are too busy for me and that’s the reason why they sent me to Night High. I can see why my father’s job is very important but with my mother’s, I have no clue. She tells my father and me that she runs all the existing but every time she talks about her job, which isn’t much, I can see in her eyes that she is completely lying. I try telling my father but he denies it every time.

If you’re wondering what I look like, I’m basically a wolf. I don’t have three heads, just three tails and sharper teeth from my mother’s genes. I can turn human-looking but my father forbids me to so I never get but a few seconds to turn before he can catch me.

So at Night High, everyone has been acting weird around me, which is well….weird. I’m not a social creature and can be classified as a loner, or as we call it at Night High, a lone wolf. I have two friends but we aren’t super close. They have been acting weird too, more than usual, and I’m not used to all this attention. One example of a creature being strange towards me is cupid’s daughter offered me true love with whoever my heart desired. I rejected the offer and told her I wouldn’t want to put someone through that torture. Though, a romantic and hot guy who’s madly in love with me is a miracle, it wouldn’t help with my situation.

I pass everyone giving me various expressions of fear, anger, and sorrow. I look away from all of them and just try to quickly get to my next class. I dodge anyone who tries to speak to me and in no time I arrive to math class; away from all those creatures that fill the hallways of Night High and their different and odd expressions.

During class, I get called to the principal’s office and as I walk out the class, all eyes follow me. I rush out and close the door quickly behind me. Why am I getting more attention when I don’t even want any attention at all? I walk down the hallway and spot Jey Blackfoot, the son of a Native American werewolf clan, and try to hide as we walk closer to each other. I realize he’s actually walking to me. I don’t want any more attention! Jey approaches me and cups my chin with his hand. My heart is beating so fast and I have no idea how to react. Seconds that feels like tedious minutes go by as Jey stares into my eyes with a mischievous grin. This would have been hot if I wasn’t so shocked. Jey has never talked to me for all of the three years I have known him and this-what he just did-is very unexpected.

I blink, falling out of his trance, and shove his hand away. I dash away from him and don’t stop until I get to the door of the principal’s office. At the wooden door, I bend over and put my hands on my knees to catch my breath. I’m still partially in shock but slowly gain serenity. My heart beat slows down and my breathing softens.

I stand up, gradually, and ease the door open. Inside, Medusa sits at her desk, facing away from me and at out the windows that overlook the whole front of the school. Also, in the office stands my father; looking at all the pictures and plaques on the wall to my wall (even though he already memorized everything on the wall). He stands so still that he’s almost like a statue.
