Episode 11: She's Your Sister

Chaeyoung and Chanyeol leave the rooftop and walk to Café Universe together as Chaeyoung has to work while Chanyeol wants to finish his school project and meets his Hyung too. Although they were in an awkward situation at the moment, they managed to come back to their friendly senses that they never want to break.

[Café Universe]

"Chaeyoungie! Someone is waiting for you." Minseok see both of them entered the shop and tells Chaeyoung from afar

"Who, Oppa?" Chaeyoung asks back before she spots someone to sit by the window standing up as seeing her...

"Unnie!" Chaeyoung stuns and widens her eyes... It's Sooyoung, her Dongsaeng "Oh! Chanyeol Sunbae!" She bows as she spots Chanyeol who is behind Chaeyoung so that he bows back. Chaeyoung walk towards that table and Chanyeol follow her too. They all sit at the same table

"Rosé Unnie!"

"What do you want?" Chaeyoung asks her back

"Rosé?" Chanyeol mumbles quietly but others still definitely hear him

"It's her English name. We always call her by that name." Sooyoung looks at Chanyeol with her answer

"We?" Chanyeol has another question since he has never heard her granny call her like that

"Our family! I'm her sibling. To be the specific, younger sister." Sooyoung clarifies his doubt but those answers might not help since he's got more... Family? Sibling? Well, he met only her granny and he hasn't known anything about her family yet

"Stop it, Joy!" Chaeyoung yells at Sooyoung and both Sooyoung and Chanyeol look at her sad eyes "Why are you here? Why did you come and find me again?"

"I want to see you, Unnie!" Sooyoung starts to have teary eyes

"I said I'm not ready... I told you already!" Chaeyoung says with her straight and creepy face

"Hey Chaeng! You scared her!" Chanyeol says to Chaeyoung as he notices Sooyoung is tearing already

"You better not step into this!" Chaeyoung stands up, grabs her backpack and walks out the shop leaving these two at the same spots...

"Sooyoung-ssi! May I know what happened between you two?" Sooyoung wipes her tear and raises her head to talk to Chanyeol

"10 years ago." She sighs "We are siblings and I was sick back then so our parents took me to get a proper treatment at The U.S. leaving her in Korea alone. But she... she ran away from home without any notice..." She starts teary again "When we heard that she went missing, our parents came back to Korea to find her but the police found the body of a 10-year-old girl involving with a car accident. The body was in pieces that we could not recognize but the police assumed that it was Rosé Unnie... So we stopped finding her by then." Chanyeol offers Sooyoung a napkin to wipe her tear

"So how did you find her just now?" Chanyeol comes up with his curious again since he always wants to know Chaeyoung-related things

"Back then when I was in the U.S., I strolled around the internet. I spotted your university's gallery and I saw her picture when she performed with a guitar. I still remember her gestures and smile so I compared our old photo with now. Although I was not sure at that time that it is her but she doesn't change much! That was why I take risks coming here all alone to find my answer... And it's really her... But I... I don't understand why she ignores me!" Sooyoung finishes her words and wipes another tear of her.

Chanyeol stops asking her any further since he doesn't want her to cry anymore. He sends her off the shop as she stops crying. He feels like he doesn't know Chaeyoung yet... There're a lot of questions in his head that want someone to clear them but he doesn't know who to ask. He walks closer to talk to Minseok.

"Hyung! Has Chaeyoung ever told you anything about her family?"

"Besides her granny, nobody else," Minseok says casually as he also heard all their conversation. Chanyeol sighs as he still doesn't get anything "She is not a type of open-up. I've never heard her talking about her private life nor complaining about her hardships. She is always cheerful and optimistic that she makes everyone feel her positive energy."

Chanyeol nods as he can also feel it from her but he still doubts with other things. He is trying to reach her phone many times but it is not answered so he asks for her granny's number from Minsoek since he said he has it. Granny used to call Minseok once Chaeyoung got sick and could not come to work so he saved it for emergency cases like today.

"Yeoboseyo?" Chanyeol smiles as granny picked up his call

"Granny! This is Chanyeol, Chaeng's friend that got robbed and stayed over at your house last time."

"Ah! My young handsome man! Why are you calling me today?"

"I want to know if Chaeyoung is home since she didn't pick up any of my calls."

"Ne! She just came home a moment. She said she is not well and want to rest today."

"Oh! I see. Gomabseubnida, granny! I'm going to your house right away." He picks his backpack from the chair and rushes to the door "Oh! Don't tell Chaeng yet, Granny! I don't want to notify her yet."

"Arraseo! See you,young man!"
