I sigh as I hit the alarm clock that's blaring at the side of my bed. I sit up and turn to the joint already rolled and ready to be smoked.

My favorite lighter sits beside it. It was green with wonky patterns on it. It was cool and it peaked my interest.

I rub at my eyes before deciding to light up the joint and take a few hits. When I feel the familiar buzz, I put it out and stand to my feet.

It was the same routine everyday. Smoke, shower, eat, brush my teeth, head to work, come home, smoke some more, fuck a girl, go to sleep, repeat.

After my shower, I eat a bowl of cereal and finish getting ready for work.

The second I step outside with my car keys in one hand and phone in the other, I regret it.

It was a gloomy day, surprise surprise. It would definitely rain. I unlock my car and I hear the beep.

I climb into my little Audi and turn on the heating. To say I had a lot of money would be somewhat of an understatement, I guess.

I'm a corporate CEO, the position passed down when my father retired. But with money, happiness doesn't quite follow.

I'm still lonely and depressed. It was a curse, I think. I'd rather have love and happiness, instead of a life filled with money and tons of women.

As soon as the car is finished heating up, I back out of my driveway and take off towards my building.

I park in my spot, saved for the boss, and lock my car as I walk away.

"Good morning, Mr. Jeon," Miranda smiles at me as I pass her desk on the first floor.

"Morning, Miranda," I reply timidly. I wasn't very good with people, outside the few friends I have.

I stand in the elevator looking at my phone. Jimin texted the group chat, which means he probably wants to hangout.

Jimin: it's friday so u know what that means
Hoseok: yoongi wanted to do something for his birthday
Jimin: we can all celebrate him tn
Hoseok: yoon
Yoongi: okay, that works.
Hoseok: !!
Namjoon: I guess I'm in. Where and when?
Jimin: same time same place joon
Jimin: jungkook?
Me: Yeah, I guess I'm down. I'm at work right now, so I'm not texting anymore. ✌🏼
Yoongi: have a good day, kid.

I turn my phone off when I hear the ding of the elevator and step out of it.

Sooyoung, my receptionist, doesn't even look up when I step inside and just sets a paper down on the top of her desk.

"Your father left a message," she says as she types something into her computer.

"Thanks," I take the paper and walk to my office and unlock it.

I set my keys and phone down on my desk. I take my suit jacket off and place it on the hanger next to the door.

The paper is just something someone faxed over, and I read over it to make sure it's clean and understandable, before signing off and setting it in the return basket on the corner of my desk.
