HARRY'S P.O.V
No one expected this to happen.
Not one living creature even thought that this would ever occur.
But I'm part of the lucky people that got to witness this right? wrong I'm not lucky if anything I'm the unluckiest person ever.
I wouldn't say that my life was sweet like cinnamon but it was decent.
Just kidding, it sucked ass, I self harmed for a while and then I tried drugs but that didn't help either.
That just goes to show that even stepping out of your life and imagining another one doesn't help solve problems, but I always end up finding out things the hard way.
I was abused when I was little. Her name was Mika.
Funny how the name means gods child in Russian.
she was everything but gods child. she was evil and selfish.
She was my caregiver, that's how I knew her, but god I wish I never knew the monster that would tempt me every night to look under my bed and In the closets and every crevice in my house each night before I went to bed.
One second she would be well... normal but the next her eyes would turn a dark blue and she would do evil things.
Some of which include getting a whip and thrusting it against my back as hard as she possibly could, that was only one of the many things that horrid lady did.
I still have scars but nothing I wouldn't expect, after all I did get abused all those years of my life.
One day my mother asked me what a new wound was caused by.
She was oblivious to the many signs of abuse. Sometimes I thought that she didn't care enough to do anything about it.
I always had an excuse but I had seemed to have run out of all of them.
Mika always told me that if I ever told she would give me a beating worse than all the others.
Luckily, she was caught in the action and was put to rot in a filthy cell.
Her words and action took a physical and mental toll on me, I always thought that the reason she did what she did was because I was never good enough.
I believed those words and now the memory of her haunts me.
Over the years I would try my best to forget but only for the memory to be brought back, fresh in my mind, the scars on my wrist reminding me each and everyday of my troubled past.
Now I'm over that, I think, but only because I have bigger problems now like how I am going to survive.
The sun has been 'dead' for a week now. Tons of people, including my family, have passed. The only source of light is something that scientists were able to put together in a limited amount of time. They call it the glowen the only good part is that the ball of light never dims.
When NASA reported the condition of our source of all energy it only took eight and a half minutes for the light to shut off around the world like someone deciding to turn off the light using a light switch.
Only eight minutes for panic to settle in which was certainly not enough time for the human race. Of course, when the incident happened Red Cross was passing out survival kits and I had gotten two.
But everything is ok right? I mean the army had collected all the rich wealthy people and put them out of harms way. Fucking dicks. Most of those snobby rich people don't even have any talents or information to help find a way to survive. I do, I know morse code.
Ok so maybe morse code isn't that important but when all the people that know morse code die they will bow down to me.
I'm off to fight my own battle and to survive the only year I can. I say this because the most any of us can survive without the sun is one year and that includes a lot of struggling to keep up with solar systems changes.
At least that's what the scientists say. The scientists say a lot of stuff yet nothing at all.
One of the many questions I wish they would answer is why did the sun suddenly stop? Many people have different theory's but hearing them makes me go crazy.
Since the suns heat and light has disappeared it's been cold and dark and people have been killing for supplies.
I know that everyone thought that it was going to be pitch black darkness but thanks to the stars light there's just enough to see the shape of something not necessarily what that object is though.
Eight minutes after the sun disappeared the earth lost it's usual path around the sun because the suns gravitational pull had disappeared.
The world was hectic and I also found out that the photosynthesis for plants had completely and immediately halted to a stop. Only the big trees were here to stay but only for a while more. This caused problems since, if you think about it, we get most of our food from crops and plants.
Like other people I thought that we would suffocate due to no plants and hardly any trees but it turns out that we also get air from the ocean.
As I trudged toward my destination I began to grow weary and hungry.
It was night time and the dark sky stayed dark. I only knew it was night time because the watch that was included in the emergency packs I had gotten.
I sat down and pulled the pack off my back. I'm freezing its below zero degrees.
I took the heat blanket out of my bag and covered my lower half while I pulled out a can of beans and a multitask tool. The tool consisted of a pen a knife, a tiny pair of scissors, a screw, and a pair of tweezers.
I used the knife to pry open the can and began to eat. I soon finished the can of beans but I was still not completely full but enough to function.
I looked around once more before taking out my portable tent, also included in the safety pack, and setting it up. The tent itself produces heat so hypothermia isn't an issue.
I stepped inside the camouflage tent and sealed the entrance, an action that had become a habit over the week.
I looked around the one person tent and began to calm my nerves. I didn't know what I was expecting but something inside me knew that something would and I hoped that whatever it was that it would be good.My eyelids became heavy and deep sleep soon coated me.
What seemed like three hours later I heard noises coming from outside the pavilion. I felt my heart drop to my stomach and my muscles felt tense due to fear.
I began to rise from my spot on the tent floor slowly. I kept hearing whispering and a dragging, thud type noise.
As I slowly approached the sealing of the pavilion my heart rate began to Accelerate going a mile a minute.
I grabbed the door handle unlocking the tent then quietly and slowly began to reveal the outside.
Cold air entered sending goose bumps along my spine. When the sealing was completely open I poked my head out and looked around.
My eyes soon stopped wondering when it laid eyes on the horrific scene before me.
