I'm a perfect little girl, or so I've been told.

With my father strict, and no maternal figure, I'm the silhouette of what I could be,

or so I've been told.

I need a break, and after all my life's work of being 'good',

I had decided to relax at a joint in which several DUI's occur afterwards.

From that experience, all I received was a throbbing migraine.

As I headed out, a crinkly man who was actually conscience glanced up at me through the glaring street lights.

I noticed a plastic baggie full to the brim with 'powder packs' in one hand,

and in the other a wad of bills which very well could pay 3 month's rent.

His eyes full of understanding, he offered a try. And like that I lost myself and 20 dollars.

By the next sunrise I found myself sneaking out to seek out this man.

By seven sunrises I found myself looking for a job to support my 'hobby'.

By a month I found myself buzzing every waking moment.

After that month, I gave the place with blaring lights and sound another chance, and found myself enjoying the spotlight.

As the buzz died down, I came to realize I was out.

I head outside to find a younger man instead of older guy.

I trudged out to find out he had to go to his car to pick up more.

I silently sat in the backseat, antsy for more.

He replied saying he would see if he had extra in his car.

Then how'd he end up in the backseat kissing me?

I woke up to find myself in a mix-up of of jail cell and a hospital.

A slight throb in my head, I looked up to see a doctor in his late 30's.

I was given a sheet of paper that read:

        " Patient 0356: Melinda Whitefield"

As I read, I remembered everything.

I had been raped in a stranger's car, and tossed out in the street with only a jacket.

Hidden in the jacket were pills-o-plenty.

After a test at the hospital, I had traces of ecstasy, but what was prominent was a certain poison.

Whatever 'extras' that man had found in his car were not what I thought.

They were aphrodisiacs.

He left me to be arrested.

I think I understand now.

I'd chosen the wrong path,

hadn't I?
