Chapter one
Introducing Me
If somewhere, somehow I’ve learned to accept how some things work maybe … I didn’t come up on meeting him. :)
There were times I think I’m mature enough to thoroughly understand why such thing happened, but then I realize I’m still a child tied with my father’s knot. I tried to escape from it but of course I can’t. And that fact sucks!
Anyway there’s a lot of stuffs that I can manage to do until one day I can wake up and shaken up by the truth that I am finally untied with my dad.
I’m Jessica Cruz, living somewhere down the road with a not so big and powerful family, but considered as an affluent family of the society. We have cars, a mansion , a five hectare land, a commercial bank and a company. My mother is a doctor and my father is a successful business tycoon.
My brother, Phil, is a well-known and a great scale rancher in our land property. He just reached his thirty last November 15 and he is presently living with his wife Veronica. Veronica Lopez is the daughter of dad’s business partner. I don’t know if Phil really loves her, because dad just forced him to marry her. Phil’s just really a kind son to follow what really does he needed to follow for the sake of our reputation. By the way they do have already children, they are Danica, Sammuel and Jackie.
Next on her is my sister Brenna, the big boss of our bank. She’s turning twenty nine at 30th of December. She’s married with Daniel Sy, the son of one of the biggest stock holders of the country. Their family and ours are good friends since before. And Daniel is the first born child of family Sy which is in thesame age with my sister. Brenna’s love story isn’t that tragic like Phil which is really just forced. Brenna and Daniel have an affair to each other since high school, so nothing shocked anyone when their parents told them that they will marry each other. In the present they have a twin named Natalie and Nathaniel. And I don’t know if they are planning to have more kids in the future, well anyway I don’t need to care about that, that’s their life.
Finally Joshua, he is a fresh graduate of business administration, because dad is planning to give him the company years from now. He’s now a manager of our company’s finance department, and I can really comment that he can’t be a good leader because he will surely be a very very good leader. I’m proud he is my brother. Joshua is my closest brother, he used to defend me with the bullies of our school in grade school and I used to cry on his shoulders everytime dad scolds me. And he’s the first guy I’d ever met whose willing to wait for me for hours when I’m choosing my clothes at the mall. But now, it’s definitely occasional because he’s busy. My only crony except mom in this house was gone. A year from now he’ll be married to Mandy Felarcon, another rich girl which is probably a daughter of my dad’s friend.
They are all lost, all grown according to the plan. I’ve seen how sad Phil was on the day wherein he should be the most happy person ever created, his wedding. I’ve seen how disappointed Joshua was, when dad told him to choose business administration as a course instead of what he really wants which is engineering. I’ve watched how much pain Brenna had shed when dad forced him to build up again his almost ruptured bank which is nearly impossible to happen.
And I know someday, maybe soon, dad will wanting me to date Brandon Mercado, the son of his business partner on the St. Peter’s hospital-the biggest hospital of the country. I hate it but I’ll just follow, who knows maybe I’ll be fortunate enough so that when I meet him I‘ll have this “love at first sight,” right? Or if not maybe years after our marriage I’ll just manage to learn how to love him like Phil. I shall hold on, on what dad always quote: everything can be learn if you work hard for it.
