Chapter 3: Road Trip

The motel was approximately one and a half hours away from their house, and Aya and Jinyoung were ravenously hungry. They were about two thirds of the way there when they saw the infamous yellow 'M' that could only mean one thing...

McDoNaLd'S

Jinyoung (who was driving) wasted no time in turning into the drive-thru.

"Hello, may I take your order?" said the McDonald's employee, who seemed to want to be anywhere else than the position she was in currently.

"Yes, we'll take a 20 piece McNugget share box and a 14 piece McNugget share box with a large fries please," Jinyoung replied eagerly.

"Anything else?"

"No thank you, that's it."

"Please drive to the next window so you can pay," the employee said with slightly more life in her now.

"Thank you."

When they got to the next till, the employee was trying to open the window, as it was very stuck. When he EvEnTuAlLy opened it, he almost broke the window due to how much force he was applying.

"That's £9.67 please," he said, tired from opening the window.

Aya was about to whip out her wallet but Jinyoung beat her to it.

"It's okay, babe. I'll pay, my treat :)" he said to Aya. Then he turned around to the staff and said "can I please pay by card?"

The cashier grumbled slightly but stuck out the card reader.

Unfortunately, Jinyoung was quite far from the window and there was a queue all around.

So they stretched.

And stretched.

A few ligaments were probably torn at this point, but still, they stretched.

Then they heard it... The card authentication beep.

A sigh of relief was heard by the cashier, Jinyoung and even Aya herself as they both retreated behind their respective windows.

After that episode, they sped off down the highway (at a legal speed) on the way to their motel.
