I really thought that spending the summer in Wyoming with my brother was gonna be extremely different. I guess this is what I get for thinking that I was only going to be watching a dog for majority of the time and being with my brother and sister-in-law for only a bit of the time. I wasn't expecting a summer love.

"Come on Izzy! Come here, let's go for a walk!" I say in that voice reserved for only animals and children. As she comes running from the other room I grab her leash and squat down to put it on her. "Are you ready girl? Let's go to the park!"
As we're walking through the park, my phone starts ringing.
"Hello?"
"Hey (y/n) where are ya? I got out early and you and Izzy aren't here." My brother questions.
"We're walking through the park right now. I'm probably gonna get some ice cream or something on my way back. We'll be home in probably 15 to 20 minutes, that good?"
"Yeah it's fine. Just don't eat too much, I'm making dinner. See ya soon, love ya, bye!" He ended the call quickly so I had no time to respond.
"Well he's just a big meanie, isn't he Izzy? Yes he is! Oh yes he is!" I sit on a bench and bring the papillon onto my lap and start messing around with her face and making weird baby noises.
"Umm hello? Am I uh, interrupting something?" A sudden voice appeared making me jump slightly.
"Holy crap! Dude it's not nice to sneak up people!" When I look up I instantly start freaking out in my head. Of course I wouldn't let him hear this, or anyone for that matter. That would be embarrassing. He's so attractive! Holy fudge, oh my gosh, oh my gosh.... What do I do, what do I do? Just breath. You're okay, just stay calm.
"Are you okay?" I snap out of it when I hear his voice and a hand is waved in front of my face. That voice is just so amazing! Wait why is there a British person in Wyoming?
"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine. Sorry, I just Uh have a lot on my mind?" I say. Seriously?! You ruined any chance you had with him!
"Mind if I sit?" he asked and plopped himself down, not waiting for an answer. I finally noticed that Izzy was being surprisingly quiet instead of her usual yappy-ness, "She's so cute. What's her name?" he began petting her.
"Sure of course you can. No need to even ask if you're gonna do it anyways, " I said my voice laced with sarcasm. "And her name's Izzy." I heard a slight chuckle come from him
"And what's your name beautiful?" he started flirting, and he had a slight smirk plastered on his face. Shit, I can't flirt to save my life! Why did he have to start flirting you stupid attractive child?!
"Uh um (y/n)......? Yeah. Yeah it's (y/n)." Wow I'm sooo smart. Why me, God, why me?! Stupid stupid stupid! I gave my self a mental face palm and scolded myself.
"My name's Brooklyn", he introduced himself, holding his hand out. I slowly reached and grabbed his hand. I started to shake, but surprisingly he brought my hand up and kissed it. I could feel my face start to burn up.
"You're cute when you blush, ya know that?" I seriously need to get ahold of myself.
"Um uh thanks? I think."
"No problem beautiful" I instantly blush. Again.
"So where are you staying at?" And my horrible attempts at conversation shine through like the sun. Joy! I look away and blush with embarrassment, making me look like a tomato.
"At the hotel down the street. You?"
"A few blocks away at my brothers place. Which I probably should start heading back to..." I trail off mumbling the last part to myself and slowly pull myself to my feet and setting the small dog on the ground in the process.
"Mind if I walk you? I'm trying to find my way around here and at least I'll know where one nice person lives,"
As he says this he stands up alongside me.
"Really? Oh wow um yeah I don't mind. Let's go," we start the walk out peacefully and have nice calming small talk until we reach the apartment complex.
"Here beautiful," he hands me a small slip of paper, " Give me a call sometime? We could meet up and get some of the ice cream that you wanted."
"Sure, bye Brooklyn," I quickly turn and I know my face is a deep red when I enter the apartment.
