It was a normal day and I met up with Brian before school started. Well before I start, I want to introduce myselfI'm Kc, well that's what everyone calls me, I prefer not to say my real name. Anyways I'm a girl, I'm about four feet tall and my friend and I are ten, we are in sixth grade. We should be in 5th but we got held forward I guess. I have light blue hair with cat ears and a tail. I also have a scar that goes across my eye which everyone thinks looks cool but they don't know the story behind it... anyways I'll tell you about Brian, he's my best bud, we go everywhere together. We also live together, if you could call it that. We are homeless but happy. Brian has brown hair and has wolf ears and he lost his tail, when we were young. Anyways back to the story, so it was time for school and I was late kinda and I saw Brian, I ran over to him.

"Hey!"

"Hi. what's up?"

"The sky"

"Yeah, but what are you doing?"

"I was going to get some food but class is about to start"

"Oh. We're gonna be late!"

"So?"

"I can't be late"

"Why?"

"I have a perfect attendance!"

"Ok no need to yell"

"Sorry... but let's go"

"Kay"

We walked in and heard a loud noise, then everyone started rushing out of classes. Someone ran into me and fell I asked what was happening and they muttered something like "it's happening, it the end!" But I think they were being over dramatic. We ran out along with everyone else and all the teachers were freaking out. This was the first bomb.

Everyone calmed down, but then another one went off. Everyone ran around and off the property, me and Brian just walked away. We weren't really scared because this was normal for us. We had come from a place that was in the middle of a war, and there were bombs going off left and right. Me and Brian were in that area for about five years. We were nine when we moved. The five years before that, it was normal there. Brians mom and my mom were friends when they were pregnant with us. So we have been friends for our entire lifes.

Ok, enough of that, back to the story, the school was gone after the third one. Well not gone but it was pretty much destroyed. A whole lot of cops and ambulances and firetrucks pulled in and was making sure everyone got out ok. Sadly we lost a few kids. After that all the kids were sent home with their parents. Me and Brian had to walk home because neither of us has a mom or dad.

On our way home we stopped at a shop to get some snacks. We were on the second floor of the store and grabbed a few things and headed for the escalators, but they weren't working and people were just standing on them instead of just using them as normal stairs so we had to wait on the second floor. Then a window broke, someone had shot at the store. Everyone started to run down the escalators and started to fall so no one could get down.

A few brave people jumped and they were fine because it wasn't that high up. The few people on the top floor were hiding behind stuff, but Brian and me were just standing there. I don't know what made us not move, we just weren't scared. Anyways there were more shots fired. And a few people got hit but I don't think anyone died. I'm not sure, Brian said to follow him and I did. He brought me to the family bathroom and said to go in. I did and he came in after.

"Thiers window in the second stall, it goes outside"

"How do you know this?"

"I just do, you go first"

"Ok"

I went to the stall and opened the window. I looked out of it and it looks like it was like 50 feet off the ground.

"You want me to jump out this!?"

"Yeah you'll be fine, I've done it many times before"

"You've done this before!?"

"No"

"You ju-"

"Just jump!"

"Ok"

I jumped and landed in a dumpster than Brian jumped out the window and fell next to me. He climbed out and helped me out. I thanked him and we ran to a hotel. I still don't know why we did. We went to the top floor, Brian said to follow him to somewhere, he brought me into a crowded room. He ran forward and I lost him. That's when I heard it, the whole building started to crumble around me. Everyone started screaming and running around, exepct for me and Brian.

"Brian, where are you!?"

"Over here!"

I ran over to Brian.

"You good Kc?"

"Yeah, we should leave before we die"

He grabbed me by the wrist and we ran out, well tried to. Right before we got to the steps the stairs fell. Another bomb went off and the whole building shook. Everyone that was still in the building started screaming louder and a few people jumped off the seventh floor. Which is what floor me and Brian were on. A kid, I would say about five or six ran over to me and hugged my leg. She was crying.

"Umm, excuse me?"

"I-I what m-my mom!!"

"Where is she?"

"Sh-she went o-out the window"

"Ohh... umm, I think s-"

"That's a bad idea to tell her Kc"

"Ok, well what's your name?"

"Ella"

"Ok, Ella would you like to come with me and my friend?"

"Who's your friend?"

"Brian"

At this point she was calming down and looked up at me

"S-sure"

A big smile came on her face and she hugged me tighter, then ran off.

"A- Ella! Come back!"

"Oh crap, she's gonna die"

"Shut up! Let's go get her"

Brian muttered something then we ran after her. Someone pushed me and I was about to fall out a broken window. Brian saw me and ran to me to help, but I fell out of the window anyways. As I fell time slowed downed and I saw Brian at the window, he was staring down at me with a sad and scared look. Glass was falling down around so it looked like when someone jumps or falls out a window in a movie or something and they made it dramatic and stuff, but I wish this was a movie, it wasn't though. At this point, I noticed I was crying, the first time in nine years. Because I was crying it made it more like a movie. I noticed Brian still was looking down he was crying too, "I've never seen him cry, we are together all the time. I don't want to leave Brian... But I can't do anything" I thought. I looked around me of what I could see and it looked like I was about to hit the grown. "Took long enough" I thought. But I didn't hit the ground. I had closed my eyes a little before to 'brace' for impact, I opened them and I was in a dark tunnel thing, I couldn't move at all, then I ended up at...
