Classes were quiet that afternoon. Classes at Okami High are never quiet. Especially not this quiet. There were some small murmurs and whispers but nothing more than that was heard. Stormie's math class was dead silent which was very odd, even for such an announcement. The room was usually erupting from noise by then, but nobody dared make a sound.

So, the school day ended peacefully. Not a word from Brooke or Dustin. Dustin was too scared and was honestly very jumpy. Brooke.. no one knows. He had been talking to himself after the announcement. Stormie had walked past him in the hallway and noticed this. She wasn't by him long enough to understand what he was saying but she knew he was saying something. He really is a mystery.

Nevermind that; school was out for the day so the students can go complain to their parents. Stormie somehow knew there was going to be a pack meet. Even if she and her friends didn't even talk about it.

Just like normal wolves, werewolves hang out in packs. They're basically just guilds for werewolves. It mainly a thing for adults, but there are junior packs as well. Junior packs are packs for teens. It teaches them what packs are like before they become adults.

Stormie got home after a while and decided to stay quiet. She didn't want her mother to worry and she didn't want her little brother to either. Instead of telling them of the announcement, she went straight to her room to do her homework and play on her phone. She just wanted to pass the time until the time her pack usually meets. 7:00.

In the fall, that's about the time when the moon starts to rise. Stormie's always liked the twilight hours anyways. Sunrise and sunset always bring colorful clouds would make anybody feel better.

Now, we wait.

The sun had set over the horizon, but the moon was making itself visible in the sky. The clouds' pretty colors were now starting to fade as they were replaced by a darkness that is the night. Not a single star had yet to make itself known when the piercing sound of gunshots broke the peace.

All Stormie could do was hope. Hope that the target wasn't a werewolf. And if it had been, she hoped every one of the shots had missed. But there was the possibility it was just a turkey. It was turkey hunting season after all.

Stormie made her way through the woodland. She approached a hill, a fairly clear hill, with a path going up it. At the very top was a single tree, a pink dogwood tree to be more specific.✧ It wasn't that tall of a hill or that steep of a climb, but nevertheless the hill was as beautiful as usual. It's always a nice feeling to come from a dark pine forest to see such a calming sight.

The top of the hill was where she and her pack would meet. She made the mini trek up the path. There were a few trees that lined the path but that was about it. Of course, Lila loved  to climb those trees. They were short enough for her to get a good grip on them but big enough to hold her weight. Sadly, Lila wasn't hiding in any of the trees.

Stormie reached the top of the hill and saw Dustin sitting under the tree. He had his phone out and was staring at it, probably reading something. He looked up to notice Stormie slowly making her way towards him.

"I didn't expect someone to be here," Dustin said, turning off his phone. Yes, teenagers do that every once in a while.

"You seriously thought nobody would be here after the events that took place today?" Stormie asked.

"Who says 'events that took place' in everyday conversations?" he asked in reply.

"Me." They both chuckled a little bit. Stormie then sat next to Dustin at the base of the dogwood tree.

"I hate to admit it but I'm a little scared about humans joining us at our highschool," Dustin said sheepishly.

"A little?" Stormie exclaimed making her start to giggle again. "You hid under a table!"

Dustin smiled and shook his head obviously trying to keep himself from laughing. "Shut up," he said. He didn't say it in a rude way. It was one of those friendly stop trying to make me look bad phrases.

He turned his phone back on and checked his text messages. He scrolled up to earlier in the conversation. "Oh, William sent out a text to the pack," he said and held out his phone so Stormie could read it.

"'Meet up at the usual spot at 7pm tomorrow,'" Stormie read aloud. "Why tommorow and not today?" she asked Dustin.

"Probably because we don't know what the humans are like, yet," he replied. He brought his phone closer to him. He scrolled back down to the most recent messages and noticed that Lila had sent a lengthy text.

Stormie couldn't help but notice his change of expression. "What is it?" she asked him nervously.

Dustin and Stormie exchanged glances of fear before he quietly said, "Lila had a run-in with humans just now." Stormie was struck with immediate horror. She quickly snatched the phone out of Dustin's hands. He understood how scared she was and let her read the messages.

Lila: Hey guess what?

Dustin: What

William: This better not B something crazy

Lila: Its not crazy!!

Lila: I was walking along the edge of the forest next 2 Arlington. I noticed some humans with rifles & quickly climbed a tree to hide. I armed myself with a couple pinecones just in case.

William: WHAT?!

Brooke: DONT LEAVE OFF THERE!

Brooke: TYPE FASTER!

Lila: They were just turkey hunting but I waited until they left to climb down. It hurt my heart to see them walk away with a turkey they probably weren't going to do anything with 😞

William: You gave nearly me a heart attack! 😢 Don't do that again

Brooke: Stay away from there! Especially since it is hunting season

Lila: Alright! Sorry

Stormie let out a sigh of relief. "What did she say?" Dustin asked frantically. He'd obviously only gotten through the first half of the story before freaking out. She gave him back his phone. He quickly read the texts and sighed. He then typed some stuff and sent it.

Stormie stood up and said, "I'll be going now."

"Ok," Dustin replied. Before Stormie started back down the hill, she turned and waved goodbye. Dustin waved back.

After her walk through the woods Stormie had gotten ready for bed. She climbed into bed and pulled out her phone, turning down the brightness all the way. Out of curiosity she checked her text messages. She opened the conversation she had been looking at with Dustin. There was a message that hadn't been there before. It read:

Dustin: I'm just glad your okay

Stormie smiled at this and sent:

Stormie: Me too
