I went and picked up moms so she could see Maddie. As we drove towards the hospital I got a text from a private number "I hope Madison gets better real soon" I swallowed hard and gripped the steering wheel. We arrive at the hospital and went to Maddie's room, mom's saw her laying there all hooked up she covered her mouth and walked towards her bed. Cash was sitting on the couch doing paperwork hey momma she says getting up hugging her then kissing me.

I sat next to Cash just staring at my phone. Cash waved her hand in front of my face hello Earth to babe!! Are you ok? "Umm yeah...yeah" I say shaking out of my daze "just scared I say looking at my baby lay in that bed" it's gone be ok babe. Mom was brushing Maddie's hair when I noticed something magnificent, I jumped up rushing to the side of the bed.

Cash
Out of nowhere T jumps up scaring the fuck out of me "babe!! What's wrong!?!" She looked at me and pointed to Maddie's hand saying just watch. Me and mom's watched and then we saw it, her hand moved, then it moved again. I ran out the room to grab a random nurse. The nurse came in and checked her and said it was a miracle that she's doing anything and that she would call the doctor right away and swiftly left the room. T was kissing Maddie and talking to her asking her questions like can she hear her? Can she feel her touch? And with every question her hand moved.

The doctor ordered more blood work and everything came back way better than it has been these past couple of days. Our baby girl was pulling through she's a fighter just like her mommy. The doctor said the antibiotics were working and clearing the infection. We spent the rest of the day talking to Maddie and singing to her. T took Mom home this time and I stayed with Maddie doing paperwork for work so I don't fall behind. I kissed Maddie and went to the cafeteria to get some food, as I walk through the ICU I see a mother crying over a crib the machines are off and the nurses and doctors looks so sad. I can't imagine losing Tiffany or Maddie and the fact that I almost lost Tiffany only makes me value her more.
As I stood in line waiting to check out I rubbed my belly thinking about my baby. Sitting in the room with Maddie I talk to her and tell her about her baby brother or sister and how great of a sister she will be and that we are proud of her for keeping up the fight. She must have liked that because her fingers were moving. I texted T asking her stop bring more clothes.

As I pull out of moms driveway I get a text from Cash saying bring more clothes. I stop home and get us fresh clothes and head back to the hospital. I'm finally back with my wife and daughter. As we sit on the couch I have my legs across Cash's lap we're talking and just enjoying each others company. I lean in kissing her and rubbing her stomach, she doesn't have a baby bump yet but soon enough there will be and I couldn't wait. "I hope we get a handsome baby boy" i say smiling "our little Alexi James" I kiss Cash I get up and grab my clothes going to take a shower.

As I shower I think about everything we've been through and how strong that has made us as a unit, thinking about my little family makes me so fucking happy. I hear a knock on the door I get out and quickly dry off "yes?" The doctor is here and wants to talk to us about Maddie's treatment. I exit the bathroom and sit with Cash. The doctor basically said he will bring Maddie out of her medical coma if her results are good within the next couple of days. When I heard that I cried tears of joy. We shook his hand and he left. I sat next to Maddie rubbing her head "baby the doctor said you can wake up if your test look better so keep fighting so me and momma can hear your voice" I wiped my tears sniffling. "Our baby is a fighter" I say smiling at Cash who is otp with moms telling her the good news.

Cash
Even though T bought clothes we decided to go home and sleep in a real bed for once. We talk to Maddie for about 10 minutes before we leave. The night nurse has our number and vise versa so we can check on her. We get in our cars and head home. When we walk into our house it's almost empty, boxes everywhere. We go straight to our bed. Before we knew it we were passed TF out, snoring and drooling.

When I woke up my stomach was hurting so bad. Tiff was still asleep hair all over her head. I went and got some cereal and that seemed to calm my stomach, Alexi must have been hungry. As I was cleaning my bowl Tiff ran into the kitchen early screaming scaring the shit out of me "what's the problem baby!" We have to go to the hospital get dressed hurry up. Idk what she talking about but we get dressed and ride to the hospital "are u gone tell me why you so excited?" Maddie opened her eyes baby she woke up when I heard that I raced through traffic trying to get to her. We race to her room and we see the nurse removing the tube she had to help her breathe. She was wide awake. When she finally saw us she had the biggest smile on her face. I rushh to her side kissing her head "oh princess" tears running down my face. "We've missed you"

The way Cash hugged Maddie made me fall even more in love. The love she has for Maddie is incredible and I can't wait for our son to get here. I wipe tears from my eyes and sit on the bed with Maddie sniffling and smiling. I hug her tight. The doctor comes in and tells us that Maddie is a special case and that he has never seen someone her age recover that fast and that it was a miracle she pulled through a and most importantly that she has no brain defect or injury. Cash and I were so happy that our baby girl was almost back to normal.

We are sitting and watching Maddie play on her tablet and singing along to the PBS song. Maddie looked at us and asked about her baby sister or brother. "The baby is still tiny and we don't know if it's a girl or boy" I say grabbing Cash's hand. Maddie then says I want a baby sister "what if it's a baby brother?" I won't like him Maddie says looking back at her tablet. Me and Cash chuckle slightly amused. The physical therapy lady comes in and introduces herself and proceeds to help Maddie out of bed asking questions like "Are you dizzy?" "Are your legs numb?" Etc. Before she leaves she says good bye to us and walks away.

Everyday Maddie is stronger. It's been a month and a half since she's been in the hospital and today we can finally take her home. As we sign the discharge papers I get a text from a private number "I'm so happy Maddie is doing better, would have been tragic if something had happened" I'm so excited to take Maddie home that I don't even care about the message.

As we ride home we tell Maddie that this weekend will be a her and granny weekend so we can get the stuff moved into the new house and she was excited.
