"Why did they do this to me?" Harry wondered aloud, as he lie awake in his little cupboard under the stairs. This wasn't the first time this thought had invaded Harry's mind, most times he blocked it out. But when he was truly sad he couldn't help but wonder, 'will they ever come back for me?' Harry let the feelings he'd been holding back wash over him, his chest felt as though someone had placed a heavy weight on him. His mouth began to tremor as sobs escaped his lips.
"You stop that insufferable crying!" Mr. Dursley yelled from above.
Harry quickly grabbed his pillow to cover his face, his heart couldn't stop crying but he could try to bury it beneath the pillow.
"I can still hear you boy! You stop at once!" Uncle Vernon roared. A sudden banging on Harry's door shocked him into silence.
"Cry baby, cry baby! Wittle Harry's a cry baby!" His cousin Dudley sang pounding on the cupboard door.
"I'm not!" Harry said getting up to open the door and shout at his cousin. As he twisted the doorknob he heard the latch lock. The latch that locked from the outside. He heard Dudleys laughter as he ran up the stairs, pounding with each step. Saw dust rained from the ceiling, coating his hair and bed. Harry sat down on his small bed, which had taken up nearly all the room in his little cupboard. The feeling of needing to relieve himself grew as the minutes passed by, Harry begged for sleep, for the feeling to subside. He hoped he could hold on til morning, when he would be let out again.
