I am convinced I could never find my 'happily ever after'. The odds had not always been in my favor, I was used to that somehow. But today?, Of the remaining days I have on this planet? It couldn't be her. I said a silent prayer to whoever was listening that it better be her doppelganger. After all these years, she had the audacity to sit there, looking pretty? Not fair. I can tell she's upset about something, with the way she bites her lower lip. She does that to stop herself from saying something rude, damn girl.. I can't help the feeling in my groins when she does that.
Sasha Micheals, in all her glory, sat on the other side of the dinner table with a guy. I tried paying attention to my date, Alice, a girl I met on Tinder, but was failing terribly. I liked her, no, I wanted to like her. She seemed nice.  I was startled by someone snapping their fingers in my face. 'Hello, are you okay? You zoned out, everything alright?' Alice said.
'Yeah I'm fine'. I smile faintly. I tried to look at her face and pay more attention to her and what she was saying.
'.....so my cat plays funny tricks on me..... I zoned out again. I darted my eyes towards Sasha's table. I notice the argument gets pretty intense from the gesticulations, it could get worse even. Suddenly she hits her hand on the table, and heads turn in their direction. She gives a tight smile and looks around, then we lock eyes, she looked away almost immediately. She snaps her head back in my direction, like she'd seen a ghost. Her eyes smoulders with an expression I couldn't read. Yeah bitch, it's me in the flesh, alive and well. Haha. I started to smirk as I brought my wine glass to my lips when I noticed how she quickly grabbed her purse and walked out of the restaurant. It took all my will power not to run after her. My stomach churned as I slowly turned to face Alice. She looks at me with disdain, then in the direction Sasha went, grabbed her purse and stood up to leave. I didn't stop her, why should I? I don't like cats anyways, I shrugged. I beckoned on the waiter for another glass of champagne and I wondered how more fucked up my life could get.
