"hey!" jungkook yelled in annoyance as you snatched the cigarette out of his mouth. "it's not good for you." you explained. "yeah, you think i don't know that?" jungkook said, his eyes wide with anger. "go away, you're such a buzz kill." jungkook said as he reached for his can of beer. you won't let his words get to you, you were strong. "what has gotten into you?" you replied. jungkook looked up at you and looked back at the view of the city. he was currently at the top of building taking his daily smoke. but this time you were here, stopping him.
"fuck off." he mumbled. you had enough with his attitude towards you. all you're doing is trying to help him, but he always pushes you away. "you were never like this before.." you said, clearly disappointed. your eyes gazed the ground and soon the back of jungkook. his back was broader, his hair was longer as well. he truly did change. "y/n.. i won't tell you this again. just go away, you're fucking annoying, do you realize that?" he shot. "do you fucking realize that you're slowly killing yourself with those cigarettes!" you shot back. "all i'm doing is trying to help you, but all you do is insult me and tell me to go away." you cried in defeat.
jungkook was taken aback, he never intended to make you cry, even if he knew his words were hurtful. "y/n i-" you cut him off. "save your shit, my moms cooking dinner right now. you better be down here in 5 minutes or she'll be worried." you told him before you left. jungkook sighed and turned back around, looking at the city lights and tall buildings. he took another sip of his beer before he chucked it in front of him. he waited until he heard the sound of the metal crashing into the concrete bellow him. he sighed and carefully got up, walking back to his place.
he entered seeing your mom cooking and humming to the radio beside her. "oh! hi jungkook, dinner will be ready soon." she smiled before getting back to what she was doing. "do you need any help?" he offered. "it's fine, trust me. but i think y/n needs help with studying for her finals. can you help her?" she asked. jungkook hesitantly nodded, remembering your sudden outburst on the roof. he knocked on your door twice before coming in. you sat up from your bed, surprised to see him in here. "what do you want?" you sighed. jungkook let out a small laugh and closed the door. "your mom asked if i could help you." jungkook said walking towards you.
he laid beside you, his hands intertwined. "i'm sorry." jungkook began. "i didn't mean what i said earlier, it's just.. i'm going through a lot, and you know that." he explained, turning his head to the side to look at you. "oh.. right." you mumbled, feeling a pang of guilt hit you. "it's okay, i understand that you're worried. but ill be fine, trust me okay?" he said, gazing at you. your eyes met with his. "will you ever get to see your parents?" you asked. jungkook gave you a small smile. "i hope so, i'm still working on it." he said before getting up. "i'm gonna be in my room if you need anything." jungkook added. he got up from your bed and left.
you smiled once he shut the door, the old jungkook you knew just came back right before your eyes. but something inside of you knew that it wouldn't last long. he would go back to smoking and drinking out of stress. you sighed loudly and sat up, reaching for your laptop. you opened it up and once again you started searching for the Jeons.
