It was an early evening in the kingdom of Camelot. Estarossa was going over orders and papers from his father, accompanied by his brother Zeldris. Both were exhausted and wanted to go spend time with their lovers. But they had work to get done, as soon as they finished they could leave.

Estarossa wanted to go spend as much time with Emerald as possible because he was leaving on a big mission soon and it would take about 100 years.

After what seemed like hours, the two boys finished their work and returned to their lovers. Estarossa wanted to hold Emerald close, drowning her in his affection.

She normally called him a pervert but he didn't mind. Estarossa loved seeing how she acted when they were alone in bed.
When he arrived to their room he walked in, giving her a tight hug. "Princess I don't want to go! I want to stay here with you!" He whined making Emerald blush. "Esta dont worry, everything will be fine. I'll write you letters everyday" she replied with a soft smile. But that only seemed to make Estarossa a bit more sad.

Although he nodded with a smile. Estarossa had a few bags at the door with clothes and other important things. He was leaving in a few days and wanted to make their last moments special.
Emerald was his reason to keep going, never giving up on anything, and wanting to keep her safe. Safe from anyone who dared to touch her, especially Escanor. He knew that sin of pride wouldn't give it a second thought to try and take HIS princess away from him. Estarossa and him have fought a few times but it's normally difficult for Estarossa because him commandment doesn't work on him.

He's too prideful. Which is something Estarossa hates. But with the protection of some high ranked demons like the six knights of black. Emerald should be protected. (Hopefully). The mission would be trying to take down what's left of the goddess race but there was a chance he could die and never see emerald again. Which was heartbreaking.

"Princess, in case I don't come back please, live on and forget about me-" he suddenly heard sniffling and whimpers coming form Emerald. She was crying "n-no! Don't talk like that! You're gonna come back!"
Estarossa brushed her hair aside with a soft smile. "I'll try to come back, safe and unharmed" he replied as it only seemed to make her even more sad. "Promise..." Emerald mumbled quietly.

He didn't hear her. She was too quiet "what did you say?" Estarossa asked curiously. "PROMISE ME! THAT YOU'LL COME BACK!" She yelled gripping his coat. He frowned slightly. "I'm sorry princess I can't make any promises..." He replied while hugging her tightly.
She was already upset that he was leaving for 100 years and now to hear that he could get hurt or even worse die was shattering.

Estarossa sighed "I'm sorry, I wish I didn't have to go but I do so please..." he started "wait for me" Emerald looked up at him and nodded multiple times "Of course I'll wait for you Esta! I'm not taking another lover!" She told him as her voice broke a bit from her crying. He nodded in thanks "alright princess, I appreciate that. Thank you" Estarossa smiled softly as the two laid down on the bed and fell asleep holding each other. He pulled the covers over them and cuddled with her closely. Never wanting to leave her side. But he knew things wouldn't stay that way...
