If anyone is given the chance to be somebody else for a day,no doubts, everybody wants to be Lupe Hidalgo.

Lupe Hidalgo-Elmore High's one and only Prima Ballerina. Beautiful, intelligent,well-mannered and most important of all, she's wealthy. Her father,Mr. Fernandez Hidalgo was a successful architect meanwhile her mother,Mrs. Heidi Hidalgo, was the founder of a famous cosmetic brand.Lupe had an older sister who  graduated from Harvard and a handsome brother who was supposed to inherit their father's company. All in all, Lupe's family was the kind of family that everyone's been wishing for- except me.

Lupe and I were best friends. I've known her since we were little. Lupe's family was very busy. Mrs. Hidalgo never came home early as she had tons of work to finish at her office. Lupe's siblings? They barely spend time together. Family dinners were very rare occasions. Almost never. Most wealthy families enjoy their holidays by going on vacations but not for Lupe's family. This was why Lupe always invited my classmates and I  for a sleepover at her place every weekend. Her parents wouldn't mind as they rarely stay at home. Mr. Hidalgo would usually attend business trips to other countries meanwhile Mrs. Hidalgo would spend most of her time at her office. Sometimes,I sympathize Lupe because she seemed very lonely. Although she had a brother and a sister, they acted as if Lupe was invisible to them. Growing up with Lupe, I got to know a myriad of things about her. She once said I'm like a sister to her and used to call me her "unbiological twin".

Lupe Hidalgo was an angel. She was a jovial girl. She spreaded joy everywhere she went. No one has ever seen her cry before. Not even me. She would cherish every moment of her life and tried to come up with the best out of the worst.

Lupe had a deep passion for ballet. She danced gracefully and would make anyones jaw drop off if they saw her dance moves. Sadly, her family never realized how talented she was. They would just pay for the ballet classes but never attended, not even one of Lupe's performance. However,Lupe seems to be quite okay with it as she never sighs about her parents absence in every performance.

Although Lupe's house was probably my second home, never have I ever talked neither to Lupe's parents nor her siblings. The family seemed very distant and cold. That was when I got to know that Lupe's parents dislike each other as they were forced to marry by Lupe's grandparents because of wealth.

" Only the richest suits the rich ", they say.

That explained why Mr. and Mrs. Hidalgo would always argue even about the tiniest of things. Whenever they fight, Lupe and I would lock ourselves up in her room and dance. Lupe said ballet calms her and kept her mind away from distractions. It was like as if she was in her own world every time she twirled gracefully. I admire Lupe's courage in facing every obstacle in her life. Although she lived with a family who never even seemed to care about me another, her beautiful smile never fades away from her perfectly sculpted face.

Lupe always got what she wanted. You name it,she had it. From designer brand clothes to the latest phone brands. She had it all. Her parents would buy her anything even if she never asked for it. She said that it was their way of showing love and affection towards her although I think it's not. It was probably just a way to keep her distracted from their terrible fights.

One thing that I noticed about Lupe and her siblings is that they all looked completely different from their parents . Lupe and her siblings had jet - black hair. They also looked pan-Asian. Such a contrast to their parents who portrayed European features. The fact that they looked totally different bothered me but I tried not to care about it too much as their different looks are probably caused by some DNA factors or biological matters somehow.

Lupe was the President of the Ballet Club at our school. Everyday, Lupe and I would attend ballet classes after school. Then, we would go shopping or hang out at our favorite cafe. One day as I was walking to school,I noticed that there was no sign of Lupe. Normally, she would arrive early to school with their family driver but it turned out that she was absent that day.

'She's probably not feeling well ',I thought.
