Y/N was never much of a party person, and neither was her partner, Noah. Considering Y/N's reluctance and Noah's obvious distaste in other people, it came as quite the surprise when they were both invited to one of their classmates, Geoff's, monthly celebrations.

Usually, the energetic blond never bothered trying to invite them, thinking they weren't up for it, which would be correct. But, for some reason, the anti-social couple were greeted by him one sunny afternoon in May.

"Hey guys! How's it going?" Noah looked up from his book to check the face, only to immediately go back to reading without a word. Y/N sighed at him, closing her own book and laying it flat on her lap.

Her entire body started shaking once she met the party animal's gaze. Not because he disturbed her, but she wasn't quite sure how to interact with people like him. Her anxiety had a bad grip on her, and she showed her troubles by twitching her body.

With a mouse-like voice and lion-hearted courage, she responded, "It's going . . . alright . . . I . . . I guess." "AWESOME!" His excitement made Y/N recoil slightly. "I mean, that's cool, good for you," the energetic boy commented with a soft grin, trying to keep from scaring her. "Soooo, you two have any plans for Friday night?"

This, somehow, caught Noah's attention, to which he responded, "Unless being devoid of sunlight and binge-watching 'The Office' counts as busy, I guess not. What do you have planned, Surfer Boy?" Geoff chuckled at Noah's answer, "Well, I'm hosting this wicked party on Friday, and I'd really hate for you guys to miss out on it."

". . . You're inviting us?" Y/N's voice perked up, a mix of shock and nervousness poking at her throat. The blond nodded excitedly, "Right on, my guy. This is one of those bashes that everyone has got to experience at least once in their lives. What do you say?"

"Not interested." His response was blunt, as usual, but oddly enough, Y/N didn't immediately agree with him. She placed her hand gingerly on his shoulder, leaning herself close to his ear. Noah was concerned at first, moving his gaze from his book, to Geoff's face, then back to you before giving in. "Y/N . . . Alright, fine. What are the details?"

"Noah, you know I could have just come alone . . ." You shivered a little, the evening breeze gently blowing past you and twirled through the air. Gripping the edges of you sweater sleeve, Noah lowered his tone, "No, you couldn't have. Knowing you, the minute one of those 'popular' kids try to greet you, you'll peel over and flood the dancefloor in tears."

You frowned, but relaxed knowing he was absolutely right. He swiftly took hold of your hand and you two approached the destination, which was pretty hard to miss. Strobe lights crashed against the draped windows, flashing different colors out into the street.

Noah chuckled a little, "Wonder whose brilliant idea that was . . . Might blind a driver passing by the house." You cracked a shy smile, "If . . . If that does happen, we're leaving. I don't want to be charged as an accomplice." He snickered, "Good call, Y/N."

As the two of you arrived at the door, which was figuratively caving in on itself to the intense rhythm of the crappy dubstep the party-goers were blasting to the heavens. Luckily, precautions were made in advance, and Noah dug gingerly into his pocket, flashing a navy blue set and a cherry red set of earbuds. You looked at Noah with an eyebrow arched, and he just responded, "This isn't my first rodeo, sweetheart."
