This is my entry for the Fairy Tail oneshot contest that SadlyOptimistic is hosting. I had missed the other one and felt compelled to at least try for this, especially since Fairy Tail was one of the few fandoms I'm in that I haven't explicitly written for, yet! I hope this goes well, enjoy!

It was a quiet day in the guild, a rare luxury for the members of Fairy Tail. By now, at least three fights would have broken out, a whole team would be completely plastered, and someone would be launched through the ceiling. A moment of peace was so uncommon, that the silence was causing more frustration than anything.
"Ugh, what the hell?" Cana groaned, leaning her arm up on the bar counter, "Where is everybody? Did something happen and I wasn't invited?!"
A hand gingerly placed itself on her shoulder and the card mage turned to the owner of it. The white-haired girl at her side offered Cana a smile, "I don't know, I haven't seen the others all day. Even Natsu."
Lisanna pursed her lips a little, trying to think on where everyone could've possibly gone. She glanced around the open hall, but to no avail. She was just as clueless as her fellow guildmate. Thankfully, her older sister, Mirajane, who was busy cleaning behind the bar, spoke up once the two other girls had fallen quiet.
"Natsu and his team showed up earlier this morning," she informed them with a sweet smile, "They found a job in the next town over, so they went as a team. I'm not sure about everyone else, though, I'm pretty sure the Thunder Legion left a few days ago as well."
"Oh, yeah," the card mage grinned, "I remember. Freed was rambling on about a giant snake or something terrorizing a village couple hundred miles south." She gestured her head to Mirajane, who slid a glass of wine down to her without so much as a second thought. Cana grabbed it by the handle, tipped it her way, and took a sip before continuing, "Doesn't seem like something that would take 'em very long."
The younger Strauss sister shrugged, shaking her head. Her eyes shifted towards the ginormous oak doors of the hall, a sigh leaving her throat as she did so, "I hope they're okay." Cana snickered. "I'm sure they are, don't worry," she assured her guildmate with a brave face and an arm slung over her shoulder. Lisanna nodded gently, but her fears were realized not even a moment later.
As soon as the three women were able to breathe comfortably again in the still air of the guildhall, the door was swung open. It slammed into the wall, and immediately a cry was heard, "Medic! Medic, help!" The girls all snapped their heads towards the entrance and the younger transformation wizard's hands jolted to her mouth.
It was Bickslow, his armor disheveled and almost completely coated in mud and grime. He looked positively panicked, at least from what you could see from under his helmet and his body language. However, the dead giveaway was the fact he was carrying a wounded Freed on one shoulder, and Evergreen in the other.
Cana pounded her glass down onto the counter and sprang up from it, rushing over to the Thunder Legion with Mira hopping over to help. "What happened?" The elder Strauss inquired, her voice shivering as she did. Bickslow let the card mage help his green-haired teammate to a table, and explained while shifting his female into his arms.
"Snake was a lot bigger and meaner than we expected," the seith mage admitted with a slight, embarrassed laugh, "We managed to take it out, but these guys got roughed up by the slithery bastard." Lisanna, having broken out of her paralyzing stupor, leaned over under the counter and ripped a box of bandages from a shelf. She darted towards the chosen table, where Mirajane placed a cloth under Freed's head and Cana was laying a spot out for Evergreen.
