It was just another day at the barn for me. It was the same routine everyday; muck out the stalls, feed the horses etc.. I always got to ride afterwards. Even though I have tons of chores to do at the barn, it's still my favourite place on earth. By the way, I'm Mackenzie. 15 , and absolutely horse obsessed. Most people my age who are interested in horses are into English and jumping and stuff. But me, I'm the opposite. English is awesome but I'm more a a western gal. The thrill I get from barrel racing and pole bending is amazing.
I didn't have a licence yet so my dad drives me to the barn everyday and picks me up everyday after work.
I woke up this morning on the right side of the bed. It was my birthday. I'm turning 15! Even though it was my birthday, I wanted to go out to the barn. "Happy birthday sweetie!" My parents said. "Thanks guys" I gave them each a hug and we headed out to the barn. This time, my whole family was coming for the ride. Kinda bizarre? Maybe it's because my birthday. After 20 minutes of driving we got to the barn. When we got there, my instructor Miss Rachael was standing out side the barn with a new horse. What was going on?
