Dylan's entry into the entertainment world was not a piece of cake. It wasn't something he planned either. He was all set in becoming a flight attendant. But fate clearly has a different plan for him.
Dylan is a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and that there are no coincidences. He knows that he has a big shoe to fill by taking on the role of Dao Ming Si. Despite some doubts and criticisms, he never backed down. He is meant to play that iconic role. Just like Shen Yue is meant to play the role as his Shancai.
The two of them were destined to meet. The universe made it happen.
What he isn't sure of is, if he is meant to fall in love with her, while she is meant to fall in love with someone else.
Dylan can't be certain when exactly Yue managed to creep in his heart. He himself was caught off guard when he woke up one day, and he realized he was head over heels with his little one. All at once, everything is different when he looks at her.
Like magic.
It was not a case of love at first sight for Dylan. He was only eighteen when he was cast as Dao Ming Si. His first drama. Dylan was all nerves and excitement. His only focus was to do his job well and learn the ropes of acting.
They're friends. It was hard not to develop a friendship with someone you're with most of the time. Especially with someone like Shen Yue.
Shen Yue is not like any other girl. She's one of the boys and for Dylan, that is a good thing.
He may appear cool and seem like a womanizer but in reality, he doesn't have any idea how to approach a girl.
Much more if it's a girl he likes.
Everyone is saying how confident he is. How he is so sure of himself. That may be true on other matters. But when it comes to Yue and his feelings for her, he is a coward.
XiZe calls him a chicken.
It's not like he hasn't tried telling her. He did try. Many times. It's either a lump forms in his throat every time he attempts. Or the timing isn't right.
It was during their filming of Meteor Garden when he was bitten by the love bug. And years after, that feeling never faded. Instead, it increased tenfold. He always tells himself that he still has plenty of time. They're young. And Yue always said she's not yet ready to be in a relationship.
And now this.
He is not ready for this.
Dylan tried to mask the hurt and worry in his face as Yue can read him as clear as a day.
"Woah. Easy Shen Yue. You're not about to confess to me right?"
"Wipe that smirk off your face Wang He Di. Or else..."
"Or else, what? You'll kiss me senseless?" Dylan shoots her heart eyes.
"NOOO!!! Why are you being so annoying Didi? Just you wait I will beat you senseless when I see you." Yue squinted her eyes, a smile playing on her lips.
"Aiyo, don't go violent on me Shen Yue. I could win over you anytime."
Yue was about to retort back when she received a message from her manager.
"Sorry Di I have to call Yang Jie."
"Excuses, excuses."
"I'll call you later Didi. We're not yet done. Bye!" Yue made her scrunchy cute face and ended the video call.
Dylan couldn't believe he got out of that one unscathed. Maybe he just needs to annoy Yue to avoid having that talk about her being in love. Because he's not sure if his heart could take it.
