He stood over her dead body weeping. "Come on, Kendra, wake up please!" he screamed for her to awaken but no matter how loud he yelled, she wouldn't move. He felt like he had been there for hours, even if it had only been 10 minutes. When he finally looked away from her stone cold body, he noticed a book. The book was in a position that looked like it was dropped, its yellowing pages facing the ground in a crude matter. He picked up the book slowly, and a note fell out, causing him to jump the tiniest bit. He looked at the note for a minute, taking in its features. The note was yellow, like it had been there for years, pieces were blackened and some bits were charred like someone had tried to burn it. He slowly leaned down and picked up the note, placing the book down in its place. Carefully unfolding the yellow pages, as to not rip the note, Gaelic words slowly showed themselves. The boy looked at the words in disbelief, wondering why the Irish language was used in a book, as it looked to be at least 100 years old. He read the Irish words, glad he lived in Ireland. As he read the note, though, he regretted his decisions. He read the Gaelic words out loud,"An té a léifidh an leabhar seo, tabharfaidh sé aghaidh ar phian dosháraithe, agus beidh a n-anam gafa go deo, ag tabhairt aghaidh ar a n-imní is measa." He stood there frozen. The boy then reread the words in English,"Whoever reads this book will face an insurmountable pain, and their soul will be caught forever, facing their worst anxiety." He looked up from the note at Kendra's body, his dark purple eyes wide. He lowered his gaze to the book that started this whole mess, anger filling him. He picked up the book and put the note inside hastefully, not caring about the pages anymore. He leaned down and kissed Kendra's forehead before exiting the clearing.
