Footsteps as black as the deepest dark of night clumped against hopes and dreams with every step, clouding the surroundings in fog and mist which does not allow the eye to see further than what's in front.
Not all eyes can see perfectly clear. Never have eyes been the same duplicates as another's. Some can see past the fog, their mindset pushing them through even in the densest of mists, but others cannot. Others have to endure the feeling of knowing nothing, of never looking up and ahead. Some have to live in the darkness, the one that flows with every step they take.
Some say your eyes are the windows into your soul. That if one were to look you in the eyes long enough, they would know you front to back like a classic novel they've read thousands of times.
But what if eyes lie? What if what you're seeing, is nothing but a vision?
When you look into your own eyes, you are fooled by yourself. You say that it is you staring back at yourself when you merely stand in front of a glass pane.
Your eyes decipher what's real, and what's not. How do you know they aren't lying?
But sometimes, your eyes are all you can rely on.
