chapter 1~thoughts and breakfast

Ellie's pov
It has been a few weeks since me and Nick went undercover. Ever since I've kissed him I've had a lot of questions about why I kissed him. I don't know why I did it. But I don't regret it. At all. But I just want to keep our friendship the way it is after all. Rule 12. "never date a coworker." so no matter what I feel or don't feel for Nick. It really doesn't matter. I continue to get ready instead of thinking anymore about Nick. Ping! Well, that didn't last long. Ellie picks up her phone. It's a text from the one and only Nick Torres.
Luis🤪- morning Charlie:). Wanna grab breakfast at the diner?
Charlie💕- yeah sure! What time?
Luis🤪- I will pick you up at 7?
Charlie💕-sounds good!
I smile at my phone. I put on my favorite outfit and curl my hair. I put on a natural face of makeup. Right as I finish up I heard the doorbell. I run to the door. When I open the door I see Nick. " ready to go?" he asks. "yeah let me just grab my bag." I grab my bag and say to Nick "ready!" he just smiles at me. We go down to his car and as always he opens the door for me. " why thank you, Luis" " No problem Charlie" he smiles.
Nicks pov
So I've been thinking a lot about mine and Ellie's undercover mission. Why did she kiss me out of nowhere? I mean I guess it was probably just to make us seem even more legit. But that kiss it was like so much more than any other kiss. I've had to go undercover many times before and it's never bothered me. But man this mission had me. I get ready for work. I decided to ask Bishop to come to the diner for breakfast. So I go to pick her up. I get there and she looks beautiful as always. Nick stop it could never happen rule 12. We drive to the diner while jamming in the car. Breakfast was really good. We get to the office. Mcgee was already there at his desk. He looks like he has had a rough night. "morning McGee." McGee looked up and said " morning Ellie and Nick." " Rough night last night?" asked Bishop. " the twins kept me up all night. Delilah had an early meeting today. So I was taking care of the twins for her." Bishop looked at Tim and gave him a big hug. " your a really great dad and a great husband to Delilah. Here you go." she gives him a cup of coffee from the diner. "thanks bish." Tim said. "Grab your gear," Gibbs said walking into the squad room.
