Be like Dad... Sam stayed up the whole night thinking about what that meant. He could have sworn he was very much like his father but was he not?

His father was a true gentleman and southerner. He was a blast to be around and a true romantic.

That was it!

Marcy hadn't gotten a taste of his fun or romantic side! He was like his father! He just hadn't shown her yet!

Well watch out, Miz Chang!

Marcy opened her door Monday morning and found a flower made out of paper on the floor. Sully slid by her to inspect it. He found it to be unsatisfactory (he could smell Sam all over it) and tried to rip it to pieces.

Marcy could smell Sam's scent on it, too but also knew it was him because 1.) her children could afford real flowers, 2.) it was a rose and everyone who knew her knew she hated roses and 3.) all of her children slept like their father. Hard. Unless something was wrong, they were all asleep and that flower hadn't been there when she left her room two hours ago for Ginger ale.

Why did he leave this? She fought her dog for the scrap of paper.

Sully didn't want to hurt her but he didn't like Sam. He'd barely liked Mal. He let go slowly.

She patted his head. "Let's go."

He woofed to get his older brother moving.

Secret walked out of the suite slowly.

Marcy frowned. She didn't like this and made a mental note to call the vet. She led her dogs down to the kitchen then to the patio door.

It was much too cold to do sunrise yoga outside but she could do it in front of the door.

So she did.

When she finished, she acknowledged Manny. "Good morning."

"Good morning, Dr. Marcy." The mixed man's lips twitched. He really liked how focused she was on her meditation. "What would you like for breakfast?"

Manny knew Marcy didn't eat breakfast usually (though she loved breakfast foods!) but from being pregnant, she'd requested toast and tea to settle her stomach (her usual cure-all) but for some reason, her stomach rumbled. "Um... eggs, bacon, potatoes, French toast."

He dropped his spoon.

"Don't mock me."

He was actually just that shocked.

"Mr. Manny."

He jumped. "Oh! Okay! How do you want them?" She's really pregnant!

"Cheese and chive scrambled eggs, baked fingerlings, crispy bacon." She thought about how she wanted her French toast. "Stuffed French toast with my jam and mascarpone."

"Right away." Manny set about cooking.

Marcy went around him to pour out the animals' food.

Little by little, the children got up and brought the animals that'd slept in their rooms with them. "Good morning, Mommy! Good morning, Mr. Manny!"

"Good morning, my loves!" Marcy began kissing them.

"Good morning." Manny smirked.

Sam walked in as Marcy and the kids were eating. Manny didn't know what he liked so Sam had to tell him.

Marcy studied him as he waited for his food then as he ate. Why did he leave her that flower?

The kids definitely noticed their mother's intense stare (she wasn't [trying to be] subtle) and resented Sam.
