Edward was finally going back to New York. He made his way into the plane with his carry-on suitcase, Joe in tow. They hadn't spoken a word since Julia's funeral two days ago.

It was Tuesday morning, Edward's job had given him two weeks of personal leave after they heard about Julia.

He had already used a week and a half and he should be going back to work Monday. Edward was not happy about that, he was not ready to face his coworkers who will definitely ask him about Julia and about what happened.

As they settled on the plane Edward took his phone out and pressed play on his music as he inserted his earbuds in. "How you sleep at night?" By Tom Walker started playing. How ironic.

Edward opened his eyes right when the plane was landing, perfect timing. He looked to his left where Joe was, his eyes closed. "Wake up Joe," Edward said, his voice raspy. He needed some water.

Joe opened his eyes slowly and looked around confused before he registered where he was. He stretched his arms while yawning. The plane hit the runway and started going to his correct place.

Edward and Joe were soon getting out of the plane, back to NYC they were.

They soon left the airport, "I'll see you, man." Said Joe, getting in a different cab. Edward waved him off.

Edward found a cab himself, he gave the cab driver the address and proceeded to relax in the back seat. He admired the city as they drove, NYC might smell like pee sometimes and be very crowded but it was still a beautiful place. The cap soon stopped in front of Edward's building. He grabbed his carry-on bag and paid the driver. He got out of the cab and walked to the front of the building, he grabbed his keys and opened the front door. He walked up the steps to the second floor and walked down the corridor to the front of his apartment. He opened the door and walked in, closing the door behind him.

Edward had forgotten in what conditions he had left the apartment, there were cans of beer all over the living room floor and some even spilling all over the carpet. He walked to his room and dropped his bag. He walked back to the living room and started to clean it, he picked up the cans and threw them in the recycling bin, if Julia saw him recycling she would be so proud of him. She was always on him about recycling and about not using straws so he wouldn't kill the turtles.

Edward continued to clean the apartment when a small knock came from the door. Edward sighed, who could it be now? He walked to the door and looked through the peephole, there was a woman there holding what looked like to be a cake or something like that. Edward did not know who this woman was, but he opened the door anyway. "Hey!" She cheerfully exclaimed as soon as he opened the door. Edward was taken aback, why was she so happy? "Hello, how can I help you?" Edward asked, not as happy as her. Her smile faded for about three milliseconds before she composed herself again. "I'm Celine, your next-door neighbor. I just moved in yesterday. I brought you a pie." Celine said, holding out the pie.

Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? And as if she had read his mind she said, "It is usually the other way around but I just like to bake." She said, her smile not falling once. This lady really liked to smile, Edward thought.

"Um, thanks," Edward said, not sure of what to say. Edward noticed how blue her eyes were, it was as if they were looking right through his soul. "Well, I'm right on apartment B if you need anything," Celine said, after giving Edward the pie. How was she so nice? She didn't even know him.

"Sure," His tone sounding tired, and she noticed this. "Okay, I will not take more of your time." She waved at him and walked back to her apartment. Edward just stared her way, "Strange lady." He said, walking back to his apartment as well.
