Broken pieces scattered around
Shards of glass lay on the floor
Splinters glean,
And shimmer,
And shine
Tainted red, as I walk by.Silent cries
Fill the room
As another one careens toward the ground
A million and one pieces
Lay on the floor
As soundless screams escape my mouthBlind eyes stare and see my reflection
A million and one pieces
Is my affliction.
A deep sigh escapes my lips
As I think, "I can't handle this".You take a glance
And I smile back,
When I look again,
The mirror's intact.
