Charlie was sitting behind the desk as usual. curled up on her lap was a scraggly looking black one eyed kitty purring away. Charlie looked like she was either very bored or very tired.
Alastor poked his head into her office, seeing her current state.“Princess, you look positively bored to tears,” he said, entering the room. “Shall we go out?  Find some entertainment for the evening?” he suggested as he sat on the edge of her desk. “There’s always something exciting going on in Pentagram City!”

Charlie jumped, startled at Alastor's sudden appearance and upsetting the cat on her lap. The cat meowed in protest and hung on with his claws. "Its alright Misfit." Charlie cooed picking up the cat and setting him on a black plush bed before getting up. "That sounds like a wonderful idea Alastor. Did you have something particular in mind or just a pleasant stroll?" “A stroll would be acceptable,” Alastor agreed.  It wasn’t particularly what he had in mind but it would do.  “There’s also a fair in town if you’re interested in that sort of thing.”

Safety concerns were not exactly a very high priority in Hell so fairs were always a bit risky but there was also usually a lot of fun to be had at them.  There was a rather large one in town at the moment with lots of spinny rides, games, booths and fun attractions.  It seemed to Alastor to be the sort of thing that would be right up the Princess’s alley. “A fair? Oh that sounds like a lot of fun!” Charlie exclaimed. “I’ve actually never been to one.” That shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise to him. It was common knowledge how sheltered she had been growing up. It wasn’t her fault her dad was so over protective. “Have you been to any fairs before?” “Oh yes, I’ve been to plenty before!  Fair, carnivals- I do love a good show!” he grinned.  It wasn’t that surprising she’d never been to one but that certainly needed to change.  “Come, let’s go!” he said, standing up again, eager to show her around.  He got out his phone and ordered a car since it was on the other side of town.

As they rode in the car she couldn’t help but wonder about something.“Alastor, I know you suggested it but is this really what you wanted to do?” Alastor tilted his head to look at her, wondering what she meant.  “It wasn’t originally what I intended when I stopped by but I certainly wouldn’t have suggested it if I objected to the idea,” he explained.  “Is there something else you’d prefer to do, Princess?” he asked, thinking maybe she wasn’t as into the idea as she seemed earlier. “Maybe something a little slower paced?” “Oh no I do still want to go to the fair I just wasn’t sure if you were making yourself go on my account. I don’t want you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with.” Charlie informed him. “Though now you’ve got me curious. What did you originally have in mind you mischievous deer?” He laughed softly at that.  “Nothing as entertaining as this, I’m afraid!  I was just stopping by to discuss business and to suggest dinner,” he admitted.

He had slowly been trying to win the princess over by helping with her hotel project and wooing her with his irresistible charms.  It was a slow process.  He wasn’t exactly very experienced with ‘wooing’ anyone.  “But business can wait for another day and we can get dinner at the fair!” Alastor declared.  “There is one issue I would like to discuss though...” “I was thinking about moving in to the hotel.  There’s plenty of room at the moment and it would be easier for me to help if I’m living there,” he said, watching closely for her reaction to the idea.  That caught her off guard. “You want to move in?” Charlie asked confused. “I’m not objecting. It would mean that you would have to deal with the guests more and you can’t hurt or eat anyone at the hotel including my cat. Are you sure you can handle Angel’s craziness, Husks grumpiness and Vaggie’s irritability?” She would like Alastor to move in since it meant she could spend more time with him but she didn’t want it to over stress him. “I’m aware.  I’ve given this a lot of thought.  And you needn’t worry about my special dietary needs; I can find outside sources.  It’s not as if I only eat demons, my dear.  I do eat plenty of other things as well,” Alastor told her, crossing one leg over the other as he glanced out the window.  They were almost at their destination.
