Losing my home

It felt like the sky was falling on top of us. Cars were flying off course and crashing into buildings. People were screaming in a panic trying to find their loved ones. For a moment I just stood there holding Starlene's hand just wondering what the hell is going on, trying to understand why this was happening. I glance up and see the cause. The huge ship in the sky was sending missiles and lasers down on us.

I instantly snap out of it and run towards my house holding my younger sisters hand while my brother ran behind me.

I see my house just a couple of blocks away. Sanctuary and refuge just a couple yards away now...

John (my brother): "Gea!! What out!!"

A giant chunk of bricks came crashing down on us! I jumped to the right to avoid getting hit and luckily only the debris got me. I search for John and see that he is ok. I’m about to start running when I noticed something missing. I can’t feel a small hand clenching for dear life anymore. Franticly I search around for Starlene.

Gea: "Strarleeeeen!!! Strarleeeeen where are you!!" my voice hurts from shouting. My eyes were tearing up but I knew I had to focus. Crying doesn’t help anything!

John: “Over here!!"

I rush over to John...Starlene...was unconscious under a pole that came off the sidewalk. My heart sank and my legs were shaking in fear. Immediately I checked for her pulse... I’ve never been so scared in my life

Gea: ".....good she’s ok...."

I carry her on my back and start running home...

We make it home kind of safely. I open the door and lock it behind me, not like it would do much.

I go to Starlene’s room and lay her down on the bed. She was still unconscious but she seemed ok. I go over to the living room and turn on the TV. Even in all this chaos there’s still power.

News castor: *static* T-there is no way to contain this Intel*static* monsters roaming at large *Static* relocation is in active

Gea : "Monsters! What the hell!!"

John : "what are we going to do sis! We can’t just leave now! Starlene is...”

Gea "she's going to be fine! We just have to wait for father!"

And like if on cue we hear a knock on the door.

Gea : "I’ll get it"

John : "wait what if it’s a monster... take this"

John passed me a knife

Gea: “as if a monster would knock."

?????: "sooo are you going to open the door or are you gonna wait until we all die!"

Gea: "see its just dad...Dad!"

I quickly open the door and there is my father, Masahiro, standing in a ruined lab coat and messed up hair (PS that’s him in the picture)

Masahiro : "Well come on we got places to be!"

John : “D-dad...Starlene is messed up...plus they’re monsters out there! That’s what the news guy said!"

Gea : "Get a grip I’m sure dad knows what to do!"

Masahiro : " Yea I do we're gonna go into the basement now. Where's Starlene?"

Gea : " she's in her room.."

Masahiro : " ok I’ll go get her you guys meet me down stairs"

John and I went down to the basement and waited around for dad.

John : " What’s supposed to be down here... there’s nothing special about our basement. I’ve been here a bunch of times!!"

Gea : "would you trust dad! He knows what he’s doing"

Masahiro enters carrying Starlene like a princess. He kicks part of the wall and a small capsule pops up.  It looked like a normal bed but it was able to float on its own. He gently placed her inside and a glass hood sealed the capsule.

Masahiro : “there! This is one of my newest inventions. It’ll keep her safe while we travel."

John : “how are we traveling? I’m sure all the airports are full. And in case you haven’t noticed the streets are literally on fire!!"

Masahiro : " Aww come on give me some credit will ya! You think I never planned for an emergency evacuation!"

Gea : "That’s my dad! Let’s go already then!"

Masahiro kicked another part of the wall and a keypad opened up. He typed in some numbers and the wall split in two revealing a completely new room.

Masahiro : “now come on kids...your ride awaits!"

We venture further into the basement and find a hover ship. Apparently my father had received it from the military a long time ago when he taught the new scientist his research on bio technology. We entered the ship and ascended into the sky in search of a new home.

As we drifted further and further away from my home town, i got an aerial view of all the destruction the mystery ship had caused. and i also see the monsters the news man was talking about.

They were horrible, ugly beasts. Many had extra limbs and heads. Some had huge claws and tattered skin.  one of the looked right at me. It had one huge horn in the middle of his forehead and his skin looked rugged and scaled with huge bulky muscles. but it was his eyes that terrified me the most. they were small, but they were dark and lifeless. he seemed to look at me with so much hatred...
