It was around midnight and Austin had gotten home from work. As much as he enjoyed his job, he had been keen on leaving today as he felt the exhaustion kicking in. He hadn't had much sleep these past few days since the creek incident. He couldn't stop thinking about the clown. That damned clown.
Every moment of the day he'd been on high alert looking over his shoulders and trying to keep himself busy with work.
Its not that he was afraid of the thing, he just felt unsettled with the thought of it stalking him everywhere he went.
He thought he was going a bit insane since he still had no idea why he was imagining him after seeing him that one time in a history book. He knew he was because in the painting where he thought he saw him, was just a simple nature painting when he woke up the next morning.
He was imagining it being everywhere around him and it creeped him out when he thought about if it was real.
Still, he had to try to relax. The only way he knew how was to drink the thoughts away and so he did just that. He lazily ate two old day spaghetti and three beer bottles later, he was knocked out on the sofa.
-
Austin found himself in a forest, much like the one he has visited before, except this one had a sewage deposit area.
"Where am I?" Austin questioned, groggily. He took a few steps forward while looking around trying to find any clue as to where he might be.
He walked a little closer to the sewage water, scrunching his nose at the sight and unpleasant odor. He had no idea how or why he was here but he really didn't want to be. Just then he saw something coming out of a large sewage pipe.
It was... a red balloon? Wait what?
It floated its way over to him making Austin's breath hitch. He slowly reached for its white string when it suddenly popped right as his hand made contact.
Jumping in surprise, he was more shocked to find the clown haunting him standing right before him, smiling wildly showing his rabbit like teeth.
Austin's eyes widened and fell backwards landing on wet grass. The clown erupted into a childish giggle as he looked down at him.
He was dressed in the same vintage gray, puffed up like costume he'd been seeing him. His orange hair perfectly framed upwards with not a single smudge to his face paint.
"What's the matter, Austin? I thought you loved clowns? That's what you had said to Tommy, no?" He said with a twinkle in his eye.
"Who are you..? How do you know my name?" Austin croaked out.
The clown smirked and reached behind his back, pulling out a new red balloon.
He then proceeded to take a step closer."I'm Pennywise," he grinned as he held the balloon out as if wanting Austin to take it.
He slapped it away, making the thing float off, but that only made the clown smile wider.
"I know a lot about you, Austin, I've been watching you for a while now...", he said with a tone of amusement lingering, "oh the joy it's brought me feeling your heart race every time you saw me."
"I can taste your fear in my mouth and it's the most delicious thing.
That made Austin tense up and couldn't find the strength to stand up, feeling like this was it. He was staring at death in the eyes and he wouldn't be able to escape.
Pennywise's eyes glowed as he kelt down in front of Austin. His mouth was heavily drooling and his pupils had grown twice their size as he pounced over Austin's body with each of his arms landing beside his head. "Oh how i've craved you," he said lowly as his eyes showed hunger.
Austin was scared shitless and felt powerless just staring up at the white and red painted face above him.
He felt drool hit his cheek and felt his heart race faster as he saw the clown's teeth growing sharper than knives. That's when he realized what was going on and he reacted quickly by shoving him off of his helpless body.
Fuck this, he thought.
The clown's face to that of anger as he was the one now laying on the ground. As they both got up, Austin used all of his might to quickly push the clown into the sewage water behind him, before sprinting off into the woods.
He was breathing heavily while his face was drained of blood feeling as though he was about to pass out. He looked over his shoulder to see he wasn't being followed but that was when he tripped and hit his head on a rock, causing him to black out.
Austin woke up in a cold sweat and panic as he looked around realizing he had been dreaming and he had woken up to the sound of birds outside his living room.
He was really fucking losing it. Now he was dreaming with it. It kind of felt exhilarating in a way. He wasn't sure if it was really even his name because it was a dream after all. However, being able to communicate with him sort of put him at ease. He was no longer clueless to who he was up against.
Let's just say he wasn't drinking before bed again.
