Third pov/ Carter's release
Phoenix paced the living room. Today Carter would be realeased. They had decided that it was best if she didn't come to the station so she was waiting for him to come home.
The house was mostly empty except for the cook, the gardener and the cleaning lady. The cook was a nice young man named Pedro, he was happy to have a work place where he wasn't screamed at by people that thought criticising his food would give them a discount. Phoenix rather liked his company.
Pedro put a plate with a sandwich on the table as he watched the lady of the house pace around the room.
He had been hired by Carter Verone less than a year before Phoenix came into the picture. He hadn't really liked the first gall, especially since she turned out to be a cop. When Carter had gone to prison he had been quite nervous about what Phoenix would be like. The young woman had thankfully turned out to be a lot nicer than Monica Fuentes and actually let him come up with ideas for food.
Phoenix was (not that she knew) well loved by everyone tending to the house. It was general knowledge what Carter dealt in and the women he used to bring home were less then pleasant, so they all shared a hope that Carter and Phoenix would stay together.
The redheaded hothead matched the king if Miami's underworld's personality so well. A match made in heaven really.
Phoenix turned to the door as it opened to reveal Carter.
With a few quick steps she threw her arms around him, nearly knocking him to the floor.
The reunion was sweet as Carter hugged her close. It was the closest anyone gad been to seeing Carter acting tender and loving.
"I missed you." Phoenix mumbled into his shirt as he ran his fingers through her hair.
I've noticed that most my chapters on this tend to be kinda short and I'm not to happy about that but at the same time if some of them were longer then i wouldn't be able to end at good points in the story. (Author is ranting....)
THIS PART IS IMPORTANT
I'm going to be messing a bit with the fast and furious time line so instead of it going 5 years between Fast 2 and Fast 4 it will only be two years.
