She touches the top of her head and runs her hand through her hair as she starts to feel rain droplets falling, she breathes in consuming the smell of the rain air. She closes her eyes and smiles. "What a weirdo." Ramona quickly opens her eyes and her smile disappears and returns the disgusted look her friend is giving her. "Only strange fucking weirdos like the rain, it's literally God's  piss or sweat falling down on you. Either way, it's gross." Ramona looks him up and down and scoffs, rolling her eyes. As he starts to walk faster to the alleyway to try and get out of the rain, she follows him. "Mikey, I really wonder about ya kid not gonna lie."  Ramona says as she brushes past him, and starts digging in the trash bin. This had become the twos new normal, to survive. "OOH" Mikey says in excitement as he holds up a bag of half eaten potato chips and takes one out and eats it. "Want one?" Mikey says with his mouth still full of chip, shoving  the bag into Ramona's face. "I - I'm gonna pass." Ramona says as she pushes the bag gently back towards him. Mikey shrugs and continues eating the chips. Ramona continues digging through until she discovers a perfectly good and unopened bag of M & M'S. She opens them up and dumps them out onto her hand, and eats them knowing all too well both of them will still be hungry but still somethings better than nothing. As it starts getting dark, they continue walking, Mikey smiles at Ramona and extends his hand. "Dance with me?" Ramona smirks and takes his hand as he twirls her in the rain.

"You know something Roni-peperoni?" Mikey says as he looks from the stars to her .       "Hmm?" Ramona mumbles with her eyes closed.   "One day we will have the dreams we talked about after school everyday in the treehouse, you know that right?"   Mikey waits for her response and only hears the cars passing by and the crickets chirping. He sits up for a second and lays back down onto the grass noticing Ramona asleep. He smiles and closes his eyes. "I promise, Ramona Juliette."
