The moonlight hit the lake and made it shine against the starless black sky. Nessy sat quietly for some time on the rocks letting the wave’s splash against her feet. Smiling she would kick her feet humming softly. The wind started to pick up and blew her dark raven blocks in front of her face. Her silver eyes would look to the sky in curiosity. “Where are the stars? The ones who lead my way, where have you gone? Did I scare you away?” She would sing softly as she laid her head back slightly. “Nessy, it’s time to go back the sisters will be upset if were late again.” Nessy sighed as she climbed from the rocks standing barefoot in the sand next to her best friend Abby. The two had spent their lives together growing up side by side. As the two exchanged smiles they grabbed the buckets full of water and started their way back to the church/orphanage.
As they came up to the front gates of the church two men walked to them. The girls studied the men they had never seen before and sat the water down stepping back holding each other’s hands tightly. The men would simply grab the buckets and vanished into the shadows near the barn. Making their way to the front door of the church the two would push the large door open but froze as they heard the sisters talking. “How much longer can you allow the three to stay here? Their wolves the packs will come for them they don’t belong here. The boy is getting stronger and the girls are growing and starting to notice things. I can tell that the raven one had been communicating with the animals already.” The head sister hushed the other sisters and spoke softly. “I will rid us of them soon. I must do it properly though, I will get rid of the girls tomorrow.” A growl erupted through the church and a fifteen year old boy stepped out glaring at the sisters. “You will not touch the girls, I will take them and we will leave tonight.” The sisters gasped backing behind the head sister. Nessy instantly pushed the door open rubbing a single tear from her eyes. Abby on the other hand was rubbing her eyes tears rolling down her cheeks.
The boy moved past the sisters swiftly picking the young girls up quickly taking off into the woods carrying them. The yells from the men and the sisters got softer and softer the farther they ran into the forest. He stopped once he felt safe and instantly sat the girls down before sitting on the ground near them. Grayson sat looking at the two young girls Nessy simply held Abby running her fingers through her white hair. Abby was unique the church felt she was blessed and bleached in the holy water until they found out she was a wolf. “We need to continue on. The pack grounds are much farther there is a stream a few miles from here.” Nodding Nessy would stand pulling Abby to her feet as the three continued on their way. Grayson walked in front of the girls as he helped them over a few obstacles. Abby stopped followed by Nessy would look up at Grayson. “She can’t walk much farther she isn’t used to it.” Nodding he would lower letting Abby climb onto his back as he grabbed Nessy’s hand leading her to the edge of the stream. As growls started on the other side of the stream Grayson instantly pulled Nessy behind him and Abby clung tightly to his shoulders shaking slightly. “Hey!” He growled keeping the girls protected. “Scaring little girls make ya’ll happy or something? Cause it’s pissing me off they’ve been through a lot today.”
Soon three men stood on the other side of the stream with their arms crossed. The one in the middle was large buff and was giving off a strong aura. Grayson watched the men letting Abby off his back carefully but keeping the two behind him. He was fifteen and these girls were only seven he wasn't going to let anything happen to them. The man stepped over the stream and Grayson tensed up watching him. "Sir, I think you should back up. The girls are scared enough without you scaring them more." The man would growl before Abby reached up and clung to Grayson and Nessy glared at the man. Stepping up next to Grayson she would grab his hand softly. "Sir, your scarying Abby." Grayson looks down at the girls before looking back to the man. "You heard the child." The man growled and raised his hand and Grayson turned to protect Abby and Nessy stepped in the way. A loud smack emitted through the area and the other wolves growled and stepped forward over the stream. "Greg! You hit a child you could have stopped or stepped back! You saw her!" Nessy stood there her raven hair over her eyes as she stepped back slightly. Grayson was already turned and kneeled in front of Nessy looking as her swollen cheek. Abby was staring at Nessy before moving over to her grabbing her hand softly. Soon a new voice was in the area a soft female voice. "Guards, Beta what is the problem?" A women appeared out of the tree line as the men were yelling among each other. Her eyes landed on Nessy as she moved across the stream barefooted. Grayson and Abby watched the lady as she kneeled in front of Nessy and picked her up carefully. Holding her hand out to Abby she would help her over the stream before nodding to Grayson who followed her quickly.
