Everyone reached the Oberoi Mansion shortly, with an overeager Nandini excited to surprise everyone with Rishab's presence, and also mentally prepared to calm everyone down once they find out why he's here.
Once everyone got out of the car, she didn't know why, but Nandini felt something different in the air. It was colder, and with London air, it's as cold as it could get.
She could suddenly understand exactly what Rishab felt, she had....a feeling. And she kept waiting for it to pass, but it never did.
She looked lost and shivered involuntarily, as Malik and Raichand observed.
"Murthy, you okay?"
Malik asked, gaining everyone's attention as they were about to enter the house.
"Yeah, I'm fine, it's just..nevermind."
Nandini began but let it go, knowing it'll just freak everyone out.
They entered and silence engulfed them, there was no activity, no noise, very unusual for the always bustling Oberoi Mansion.
Nandini felt her fingers twitching, something was wrong. She could tell, it was.
By now, even Malik, Raichand and Rishab had started feeling queasy, call it telepathy, but they knew something was up.
"Elton? El-Elton? Where is everyone?"
Nandini called out, stammering, she still kept her voice even, she didn't want everyone to spiral out when she didn't for sure know if anything was wrong.
Elton approached the group suddenly, an urgent yet sombre look on his face.
"Miss Murthy, I'm..I think you'd better call your brothers."
He said softly, not wanting to alert her.
"What? Elton, come on, just tell me, where is everyone? You're kind of freaking me out."
Nandini said, her voice now shaky, as Rishab held her hand tightly and her two best friends reached over to her side, the others looking over worriedly, by now, it didn't take a genius to figure out something was off.
"Miss Murthy, call your brothers."
Elton curtly said, and walked past, clearly not okay himself. He had been with the Oberoi household for decades now, Nandini could tell if he was alright or not.
"Okay that's it, I'm calling Sammy, he was supposed to be with all of them."
Raichand muttered, excusing himself to the side, a bit shook up himself.
Malik continued to trace circles on Nandini's back, calming her down, as she gripped Rishab's hand tighter than ever.
Raichand came back two minutes later, his face devoid of color.
"What the fuck is the matter with you Raichand, just spit it out."
Nandini yelled, in a throaty voice as Manik came to her side as well.
"We need to go to Southall Grace Hospital now. Nanu's had a heart attack."
And it was after hearing these words, that the floor beneath Nandini slipped, and her legs gave way.
