"I'm sure i'll be fine, _____, you look a bit exhausted yourself."
"Kurama, if I'm not mistaken that's a blue welt right on your whipping hand," You sort of meant to say this as a flirt, saying this as you took the dishes from him. You let it settle with Kurama as you left the room with all the dishes. He couldn't help but grow a smirk at this. You mentally prepared yourself as you leaned over the sink, the water running. He probably doesn't have a lot of scratches on his body…so it won't leave much time for talking…Oh why am I so nervous about this? You eventually walked out of the kitchen, Kurama was sitting on the couch resting his elbows on his knees. He looked up at you as you entered, wearing shorts, and laid back down. Oh my god his body. You couldn't possibly have mentally prepared yourself enough for this. You gingerly kneeled beside him, running your eyes over his body--er--injuries.
"You sure have a lot of marks on your forearms…" You mumbled. Kurama laughed.
"you gave me those!" He admitted. You blinked at him and slowly smiled, but it quickly disappeared. ". . .What's wrong, _____?"
What is it with this couch and personal questions? You continued healing Kurama as you spoke. "Genkai thinks I'm weak. I'm not meant to fight." Kurama stared at you, eyes slightly wider. He put a hand to the forearm you were healing.
"These bruises have lasted a couple of days, _____, I'm positive you are a very capable fighter." His words and his smile made you feel warm despite the thoughts running through your head. Within a few seconds the bruises faded away, and you moved on to the cut on his left side.
"Your words mean a lot to me, Kurama." Was what felt right to say. It was very true. You had a high opinion of Kurama, and not only for your shared knowledge in Sciences. Now your torso was above Kurama's as you extended your hands on his side to heal it.
"Are you sure nothing's wrong?" Kurama pushed. You looked at him, a bit annoyed.
"I already told you, I'm not strong enough for Genkai right now." You retreated, balling your hands in your lap from frustration. Kurama nodded hastily in protest and reiterated.
"No no no _____! I meant… You've been red in the face this whole time."
"Oh--ooh…" what he said made your face burn even more. You didn't realize you had been blushing, though he probably thought you were sick. Then again, nothing, and I mean nothing, gets past Kurama. "it's just a little hot in here…that's all!" You quickly returned to healing him as a distraction, but Kurama couldn't help but chuckle.
"I've known you a little while, ____," Kurama sat up as he said this. "And I don't think you were red because of the heat." You looked up at Kurama, a little bothered at him figuring you out. You crossed you legs and folded your arms, defending yourself.
"Yeah well, I think your all done now." You dismissed, jokingly of course. Kurama had some sarcastic humor in him too every now and then. This side you figured was always the sly, fox demon personality in him. Kurama scooted over on the couch cushion, gesturing you to sit next to him. You could sense the good nature in his look as he said to you,
"It's your turn now." You opened an eye to look at him, curiosity festering in you enough to get up and take a seat.
"What do you mean?" Kurama crossed his legs, placing them on the couch, and asked you to do the same. "Now, close your eyes." You hesitantly obeyed. Everything was quiet for a moment, then the scent of roses filled your nostrils. You relaxed even more, indulging in the smell. You had no idea of time passing, but whatever was going on was in fact relaxing. "Open them." You slowly lifted your head as well, gazing around as various exotic flowers had filled the room.
"Kurama…" You whispered. "They're so beautiful, how did you--" You turned to face him, and instead met his lips. Your eyes couldn't close after awhile, only because of the shock. Kurama leaned back slightly.
"I hope that wasn't too forward, _____, but…you just looked so beautiful yourself." You finally smiled, both in relief and because of how corny it was what he had said to you. But that was Kurama, smooth and to the point.
"You are so cheesy." Was all you could say. A mischievous glint showed in Kurama's eyes, matching his smile. You reached out for his hand. "But…thank you. It's just… I've had--"
"It's alright, _____." He took your hand in both of his, eyes looking gently into yours. "I read you like a book. I've known for awhile and… I love you, too. " You studied him, looking on with embarrassment and happiness. "And I know you've had the 'hots' for me," he joked. You nudged his shoulder, ready to take him on. You felt the tension between the both of you, holding hands and being so close made you want more, and his body language revealed the same.
"Well then, I guess I don't mind you being forward at all." That was another invitation for more, and he eagerly took it this time. You wrapped your arms around his neck, a move that pushed your body flat across the couch as Kurama followed. . .
