ha eun, age 6
"MUMMYYYYYY!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Mum and dad came rushing into the living room, fear and shock written all over their faces.
"WHAT"
"ARE YOU HURT"
"WHAT'S WRONG" Mum and dad came over to me, checking my body and making sure I was ok.
"I--I--" I wiped my tears away while sniffing, "Hangyul-i oppa *sniff* told me *sniff* that minhee won't play with me anymore if I keep playing with doctor barbie...WAAAAHHHH"
Mum and dad looked at each other, trying to hold in their laughter.
"Honey, of course minhee will still play with you. Hangyul-i oppa is just being silly." Mum gives a stern look to Hangyul, "Right?"
"It was just a joke mum relax." Hangyul rolled his eyes as dad pulls him into the kitchen to give him a little talk.
As my dad and brother walked away, mum wiped my tears and fixed my hair as she looked into my eyes with that loving and warm smile of hers. She knew how much I loved minhee even if I was only a 6 year old yet she'd still continue to comfort me with the same words every time my older brother teased me.
She tucked my hair behind my ears and whispered,
"Sweetie, minhee won't ever leave you to play doctor barbie by yourself ok? Remember? Doctor ha eun and minhee the greatest singer and dancer always stick together. So don't worry ok?" She smiled at me once again.
I nodded, reassured by my mum's comforting words.
Minhee and I were inseparable back then...but we were only 6 and 8.
We didn't understand anything about this world nor the struggles of coping with reality.
